since i didn't do storm in beta, i did it in live and refused to listen to any advice or write ups. i got the mission to find the fuel technician and do what they say. so i ride around nyms stronghold looking for the storm technician... i find the girl on the rug and talk to her. the option i have to tell her is there so i say it and she says to tell me supervisors to wait 3 cycles or something. I am like: WTH? so i hyper back to bestine, thinking that it was code and the trainer yelled at me to get back out there. Eventually, i find the guy in a room next to nyms... and feel immensely foolish.

NCIceman wrote:My number one beef with the Tatooine Privateer arc right now is the fact that when you complete a tier, you can no longer get duty missions from a previous trainer. You HAVE to go speak to the next trainer. This has plowed me straight into a wall as a smuggler privateer on Tatooine as I am now being required to do the JABBA THEME PARK mssions in order to speak to my next privateer pilot trainer!! I must protest this most vehemently! The theme park missions are, I consider, relatively advanced ground missions. I am now stuck w/o any space mission options, ie, no way to earn money, but am forced to face off agaist 3 5k HAM tusken raiders to start with!I don't like being forced into the ground game like this, but being forced into such advanced missions, requiring me to level several ground combat skills, is not what I bought JTL for. And don't tell me to group, because I WAS grouped, and 3 of us pilots got crushed by these raiders. My main is a Pistoleer/CH, and these targets con yellow even to him. Inexcusable, forcing ground game targets of this level on JTL pilots like this!Is this true for the other pilot arcs? Are you required to do the theme parks at some point? Does anyone else hate being forced to do this also?
What level Pistoleer? What level CH? You already HAVE advanced Combat professions, you should be able to do the theme park. You'll have to do enough to gain access to the Throne Room, but that's all. Once you can enter the throne room, you can access the trainer. I don't have a character on Tarquinas, or I'd offer to help, but if anyone needs help doing this on Lowca, send an ingame mail to Zoroth and I'll give you a hand with it.

Try doin enough mission to get to the first floor.from there you can stand at the entrance and see if you can target the pilot trainer guy and converse with him. i had heard you could do this to talk to Boba Fett to get access to the DWB.
i really like the idea of the ground game and JTL bein part of the missions.i have to hyp to Lok and talk to an undercover imp working for Nym. Adds more content to the game and doesnt just make it a "distraction" from the so called broken ground game.
I didn't like this aspect of the pilot missions, but it wasn't so bad really. I did enough of the themepark to get to the pilot trainer in about an hour. And if you have any combat experience you don't need buffs. And, the trainer is too far back and will not talk to you because her talk windows disappear since you're too far away.
What made this stupid was the writers that did this part of the storyline. Apparently they let their kids write it one night when they were drunk.
Ok, you're a pilot, working *against* Jabba, so you and your people don't like him. You kill Jabba's people and since you bested his men, Jabba wants YOU to work for HIM. Ok if this was the case, he's better give me a red carpet into his palace and talk directly to me, or I refuse his offer and go back to killing his men and happily working for Valerian.
But, that is not the case, he invites you to his Palace where you have to work for his grunts? Be insulted by his peons? Gain his trust? Lol, what a joke. I gained his trust by killing his best men, end of story. The writers were smoking their burritos when they came up with this.

I lost my old character over a year ago, due to a stat bug that caused a permanent decrease in all 9 stat categories every time I logged in. Shortly afterwards, I quit SWG out of rage and frustration. Having come back for JtL, I found myself lacking content. Currently, I have Marksman 4/0/0/4 and Rifleman 0/0/1/0. Those are my only combat skills. I also have Medic 1/0/0/0 just so I can use basic Stim-packs. So, essentially, I have a novice second-tier combat profession (the slowest Marksman tree to grind, might I add) and some ultra-basic healing capacities. I also have very mediocre armor (left over from my year-old character).
That being said, I powered through most of Jabba's missions last night without even trying. The best advice I can give is, yes, get some Doctor Buffs. You'll run into far fewer problems that way. Also, obviously, get a vehicle, since that cuts down on the mission time drasticly. The sucky thing about these missions is that once you are in range, all the combat targets auto-agro you. The great thing is that if you don't get off your vehicle, you can speed away, lose agro, and then go back on foot and take them out one at a time.
Is it somewhat unfair that Smugglers Alliance pilots have to get in good with Jabba in order to run their missions while other pilot groups do not? Yes, I think that is a bit unfair. However, I think the CORRECT fix is to make it so that other pilots also need to do the theme park for their faction, or at least acquire some factional points ground-side.
P.S. Concerning those /con yellow Tusken Raiders? They were all /con red to me, and I solo'ed them. The later missions I needed help on occasionally (the Meat Beast is an especially nasty one for those of us who suck at close range), but really, nothing before the Meat Beast posed any problem for me, and now that that lumbering skinbag is out of the way, I'm not having any more problems again.

I starter doing the Smuggler's Alliance arc with my second character, a crafter with only Novice marksman and a D18 as a weapon. Had I known ahead of time that I would have to fight on the ground to advance I probably would have done the CorSec arc instead. Initially annoyed I went to Coronet, got a set of buffs and started using my speeder to spread out the aggros until only the mark was left and proceeded to kill it for most missions. You know what? I enjoyed it and afterwards I feel like my character actually earned the right to enter Jabba's throne room. He also made it all the way to pistols II!
To make a long story short I think this is a good idea and actually helps with immersion even if it is annoying at first.

I saw this being an issue back in Beta. People who buy the game just to play JTL suddenly find they have to take time to build up some ground skills to do the theme parks (whether it's Jabba, Rebel, or Imperial). There's no mention of it anywhere in the game until you get to the point where you can't actually get in to see your trainer, although at least outside Jabba's Palace there is an NPC to basically tell you to do the theme park.
To one of the others in this thread, I found that as long as you've done Jabba's Theme Park in the past, you don't need to worry about Jabba faction standing. My smuggler has -5000 Jabba faction but was able to walk right into the throne room and get missions from Beissa. I figured I'd need to kill a bunch of Valarians before I could continue, but thankfully it wasn't necessary.

Rebel Vortex missions tier II and III are in the Abandoned Rebel Base on Dantooine, though I'm not sure if completing any of the rebel themepark is required to do these (I've already done the themepark twice, so I was allowed in).
If it doesn't require themepark completion, I'd agree that one should have to "prove" their dedication to the faction, and doing themeparks is pretty easy (imp park took me one day, rebel about two due to having to fly to multiple planets), Jabba's was about 1 and 1/2 days.
I didn't enjoy the 15km round trip for each duty mission and each "story" mission for two entire tiers. This really was a drag since speedering across Dantooine is about as much fun as watching paint dry. Then again, getting access to state of the art firepower should require SOME sort of sacrifice....LOL

Try making some friends.
It has been very refreshing the amount of in space cooperation.
People realise that it's basically required to group in space to A.) Have fun and B.) To more easily complete tough missions. This has been the best part of JTLS, the instant comradery between strangers. I only get turned down for a group invite 1 out of 10 times.
SO why not use the same mentality on the ground?
Join a guild.
try /yelling "Need help at Jabbas palace PST!"
I promise you that due to a lot of people quitting before JTLS, the people who stayed are real committed and will go out of their way to help others ( I know I would)
I personally have run out of things to do on the ground, I would be glad to help you (If I was on your server)
u lost the whole point...most people dont want to do the ground....just space because the ground game sucks

lol i have to laugh as the Imperial theme park can be done by a Mstr dancer/musician with only marksman pistol 2 wearing decent armor and buffs. the Jabba theme is pretty close to the same level as this just buff up armor up get a few combat skills and prepare to waste 3hrs getting it out of the way.

3 hours is a waste of fun space time....I did this a long ago but i have buds that used to play that refuse to come back to due the poor ground game....space should be space and thats it they dont want to buff or get weapons they want to fly fly fly
