Though with cap to shield shunt 4, aggressors are not a problem at all in the A-Wing. One of its bigger problems against starfighters is the wide laser spread, which is even worse than that of the X-Wing's since it's not diagonal. Acceleration's not a problem if you use your booster to accelerate, but deceleration still is and makes fighting swarms of TIEs or PvPing almost suicide unless you know what you're doing, your enemy doesn't know what they're doing, and you have luck.

It has a great potential for firepower though and once you get used to thesluggish controls, you might actually love the ship. I do. Works wonders against Tier 5 gunboats and Decimators.

QFE and LMFAO, 5 stars for you.

My alt is master Rebel pilot, and I love to fly the B-wing in groups. Even am trying to work on the fighter killing some, what a fun (and frustrating) challange that it.

4 Advanced blasters, 2 mkII space bombs and huge stuff to go along with that. I have a Lvl 10 RE'd engine at over 90 speed and over 80 ypr, so I might be better off then most

Yes but on the point of PVP it is a waste of time in most stuff that isnt an A wing due to the small profile. Weapons spread i find isnt a big deal and tended to be worse on the X wing.
The agressors were just an example that some times in the A wing even with weapon overload 3 you end up worrying things to death rather than delivering that knockout punch.

My A wing does a lot more than worry the opponent, however if your dealing with large targets that dont more a lot, this is the ship for you. If on the other hand you want the best of both worlds, get a KSE.

The B wing is a team ship, its part of a group, and fulfils its role there brilliantly

i like my bwing it is definatly a ship to have in a group and with it fire power and right shields it it does pretty good with npc fighters just have know it quirks in handling. like it turns faster at 75% throttle and with decent engine you can turn fast enough to get a lead on an agrressor and destroy a tier 5 one in very short order. mines armed with an re'd lvl 8 reward blaster two excperimental blasters and one advanced blaster and 2 mk4 proton lauchers the excperimental blasters and advanced one made with quick shot upgrade, have everything elses re's looted parts with a re'd 2500 front/back shield the engine isn't the fastest only like 84 but it has avery good ypr wich i think is more important in a bwing i like it

just forget about the time line it nolonger exits her hasn't for some time. we're in a virtual star wars universe and it our time line not the movies. so its what we make of this universe ourselves. once this is realized then you'll start having fun

You don't really need B-Wings for soloing Tie Aggressors though, it's just as easy in an A-Wing with cap overload IV and cap to shield shunt IV and you don't have to worry about the low deceleration when maneuvering(acceleration's not a problem with boosters, though) that make up for the firepower advantage. I do agree that the B-Wing is a good ship with starfighter support, though, since it has the best firepower of the starfighters(it's not classified as a bomber, but a heavy assault starfighter).

I never said that you couldnt solo agressors in the A wing ( if you cant solo em you are going to have a tough time making master) i use one myself a lot as my other ship. I was just pointing out they can be a bit of a pain and killing them fast is preferable which the B wing does well due to its large volume of firepower.

if you ask me a properly equiped xwing can apply more firepower agianst fighter targets than a bwing can. sure the bwing can have alot bigger guns but in the time you spend lining those guns up for a shot, my xwing with 2 re'd lvl7 guns and a re'd lvl8 tr-cannon will have allready killed the target.

my xwing uses 2 lvl guns that have about 3k max damage and a lvl8 with around 3.9k. a bwing could bump that up to three lvl10 guns with around 4.5k each (im not counting the 4th since you will never hit anything with it but gunbaots) if you ask me the extra firepower of the bwing is not worth the HUGE hit in handling. the bwing flys the same as a nova, only it accelerates and stops a bit quicker.

i think its crazy that it handles twice as bad as ships like the krayt and the kse when those have 210k mass vs the bwing's 240k). if they made the bwing handle like a krayt and gave it the same mass i would fly it all the time. people say that the bwing should fly like crap since its a heavy bomber, but if its gonna be a heavy bomber why does it only get an extra gun and 30k mass over the krayt?

the only thing the bwing is good for is gunboats, and its only slightly better than an xwing. agianst everything else the bwing stinks.

"Don't be so proud of this techno..." Err, nevermind.

In my experience, the B-wing will take out Tier 4 and below non-imperial ships quicker than the X-wing. I know I do tier 4 BS duty missions much quicker now, anyway. Tier 5 targets can be a bit of a problem, since the B-wing needs to fly at such low speeds to achieve optimal turning ratio. Hard to keep up with the speed of the targets.

The B-Wing has the same maneuverability as any MP ship. With Engine Overload 4 and a 103.8 speed engine (mid 50s for YPR), it actually doesn't handle too badly. But as another poster said, the X-Wing has nearly the same firepower (especially with 3 RE'd Level 7 guns) and far better survivability.

I love the B-Wing, I always use a B-wing in any game that lets me, be it a modification of a game, or games like Rogue Squadron, etc..

What can I say, I love the shape of the ship and I always will... but the way its done in this game makes me cry at night.

I cant belive the B-Wing wich is supposued to be the ultimate starfighter of the rebellion has POB controls.... yes you heard right, it turns and rolls and moves just like a POB ship..

I understand that the ship has an odd shape, but still I cant understand why the Y-8 mining vessel (wich is way larger, and also considered a POB ship) has a much better handling than my Bwing*... seriously.

Are there any plans to upgrade ships in the future? Because seriously, the B-Wing needs some help in there, its kind of ridiculous to see the B-Wing as a master only ship and its so useless... It should be at last 20% more efficient than a X-Wing, and almost 50% more efficient than a Y-Wing, period!

I understand the fact that the B-Wing is more of a Bombing ship than a fighter (like an Xwing) but I've seen bombing ships with a lot more better handling in the other 2 pilot professions! I have seen freelancers outmanouver a jedi starfighter in their krayt gunships! But my B-Wing can barelly turn around to kill that Tier 1 TIE Bomber...

Please, oh please, consider this plea of help... Now with the so much talking about a new space expansion, it's the perfect chance to make B-Wing a worthy ship.

[Im currently using my Bwing as a mining ship since thats the only thing its good for, 4 weapons and good mass lol]

* I used the same engine in both ships btw, and yes the Y-8 moves slower, but has a better handling... B-Wing is just a pain to fly.

Can anyone tell me why my B-Wing flies like the biggest piece of crap you've ever seen? It has 242k mass, I'm using the same engine I used in my advanced x-wing which flew like a dream but the thing takes slow as hell to excelerate and feels like I"m flying a garbage disposal.

I'd point you to --This-- thread, since it discusses exactly the same thing, and is not from all that long ago. It's only down on the 4th page.

In short, for having the armament it gets, plus it's mass, it had to get a negative. That negative is maneuverability. For those that flew a B-22/JSF for Tier 4, it is insanely noticable. For those that stuck it out in a true rebel ship like the X-wing, it's not nearly as frustrating, but troublesome no less.
