In the starwars novels that were time framed after ROTJ Han still flew the Falcon, so no he doesent lose the ability to fly it. I think there should be a way for privateers to fly other factions ships while they are declared overt to a faction. That way we can do like solo and perticipate in rebel/Imp battles. I to am rebel freelance pilot, I belong to a rebel guildand it would be nice from time to time to be able to jump in an Xwing and fly with my guild mates. Doubt it will happen, but would be nice.

Precisely why I mentioned "roleplay". An rping smuggler or BH usually will not pick a side (for the most part), because they work for the man with the money, no matter what side they're on.
Not this smuggler, anyway. Reread what I said above. "I don't care what the cop's or the paying customer's deity is, or what thir hokey religion is."
Again, reread what I said. I did not say I couldn't pick a side, but that picking a side effectively ends my roleplay. And I'm not the only Privateer or smuggler who thinks this. Just mosey on over to the smuggler boards, and you'll catch my drift.
