I replaced my MS Force feedback stick with a Saitek X-52 set, thinking it was the best... all glowy buttons and LCD readout and stuff. It looks super nice and there are so many buttons and knobs on it..it's crazy (the thing tells me the time in Germany and has a built in Mouse contoller) , but it's just not as responsive as the digital MS stick. Huge analog dead zone. PLus I kinda miss the force feedback shock of getting hits on my armor.
Anyway, the MS Force Feedback stick is nice. LIke the guy said check ebay.

I have gotten a lot of people to buy this one, and they ALL love it. It is a perfect gamepad for JTL (And every other game I play.
Logitech WingMan Cordless Rumblepad
They have a second version out. First one (With 6 buttons on the pad) is much better!!!!!

I have tried a few joysticks, but find the mouse/keyboard control to be far more useful to me. To be honest, I have a hell of a time targetting with the 'sticks and find it actually takes me about 2-3 times as long to defeat a target than if I'm using the mse/key.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Its a damn good joystick. It twists (to roll your ship), has a nice throttle control, and has a bunch of buttons you can program using the CD that comes with it.

I've been using the Thrustmaster Top Gun Afterburner 2 for a while now, and I love the thing. It fits well in my hand, comes with a throtle unit that can be sparated from the main unit, and has rudder controls on the throtle grip (or you can use the twisty joystick, but the throtle rudder feels better) I don't think they make them anymore, but there are several on ebay right now for about $15 ($20 for force feedback) USB interface, by the way.
