Thread: Why do I have to have a group for solo missions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, cry more newb. I have soloed to 4/4/4/3 so far. i have assisted on helping people in the levels in between and found that it was more fun in a group (yelling: "hobbie, hobbie, IM HIT!!!" over vent is fun.) i soloed a corvette in beta and that will be my goal in live someday. A few members of my guild are master. 2 of them finished the master missions together... with no outside help.

You are clueless. Some of these missions are indeed impossible to solo. How are you go to do all the tier 4 missions solo? How are you goign to do the master mission solo? You have no idea what you're talking about.
not impossible for someone with skills. you can try to buy them if you want.
And who said they wanted to solo EVERYTHING in space? You people must be lowbie pilots and haven't seen much of space yet. There is alot more to space than just these pointless missions.
you want to solo your missions. you want the missions to be handed to you and your master pilot title given to you on a silver platter.
I don't want to solo capitol ships, I don't want to solo the Imperial Fleet.I don't want to solo the friggin Death Star
good for you. /gives cookie.
Stop saying I want to solo everything, I justwant to solo my missions. I want to make Master Pilot on my own, just like I mastered all my ground professions on my own - That is not too much to ask.
Actually it is. The ground teaches you to survive on your own and actually encourages that. Space is a different ballgame. By making the difficulty hard enough, people have to seek out help, or they have to fly better. either way, it makes them a better pilot.
I will group in order to take on the group encounters like Star Destroyers and the like. But leveling is a personal goal and should be able to be done solo. Just like it is in SWG's ground game.
No. Ground and space are 2 seperate entities. Incidentally, with the combat revamp, there will be unsoloable things in the game once more. If you want to solo a profession you will be standing outside coronet killing butterflies until the end of time.
I don't want to be sitting around not able to advance in my profession because all my friends are asleep when I am able to play.
...caring... caring... caring. oh wait /don'tcare. get friends that are online at that time. don't be shy, i'm sure someone will wanna be your friends (just stand around asking people to go into space with you... they'll be friends with you in no time...)
I don't want to be forced into grouping, I want a choice. None of you people seem to understand that. CHOICE = GOOD
here's your choice. fly better. or get a group. either that or you really don't want to be a pilot that bad, now do you.
SWG was one of the only games on the market that did not FORCE GROUPING just to advance. A squad leader can group with pets and droids, hello? They can do it on their own if they want. There is more to an MMO than hunting in a group!
actually, a SL has to have humans in their group to advance. shame on you for not knowing the most neglected profession in the game. also, at launch and the months thereafter, most people were leveling combat professions in groups. you would see groups at tusken or on dathomir or on dantooine. since the advent of ub3r buffz and ub3r arm0r, nobody has to group to kill ANYTHING in this game. and the game is worse for it. but you sure can solo your way to armorsmith or weaponsmith all you want. i hear you can solo your way to shipwright now too. you have to have people to solo your way to dancer and musician though.
I hate that they went the opposite direction and now require you to enlist the aid of 15+ people just to make Master Pilot. You're going to have to group later anyway to experience the other content, they could have at least let you level on your own.
Why not just ease people into it? making it hard enough that most people have to group about halfway through the profession and thus letting them know that the ONLY way to survive i space is to have someone covering your ass.

No, but there is an M and an E

As a SKILLED solo pilot you can comfortably take on ANY AI fighter of similar level or a tier higher, 1 VS 1 the odds are in favour of the more skilled pilot.. as the intelligent entity in an AI enctounter, you should come out on top in most cases, But as the number of enemies increases, your chances of surviving the encounter drop, no matter how skilled a pilot you are, if you come up against 10 AI Enemies, you ARE going to get hit, possibly enough to cause destruction of your ship.
JTL does NOT enforce OR require grouping to advance with your skills, it DOES on the otherhand ENCOURAGE grouping.
You signed up with a Squadron to become a pilot, as such you should be looking for groups, no pilot in a potentially hostile arena operates alone, they have support from people on the ground and in most cases with a wingman or wingmates, make use of the resources and support available, work together with yourWINGMATES and learn how to function as part of a unit that is effective against both fighters and cap ships.
There is no I in Team.

it would make no sense if you didn't have to group, you don't see Luke Skywalker taking on the death star on his own
Exactly right Ayami...
I don't remember Luke's single Xwing taking off from Yavin and flying to the deathstar.. taking out all the fighters and guns and then making the trenchrun.
I remember squadrons taking out the deathstar, I recall Luke getting his butt saved by Wedge, I remeber Biggs getting nailed in the trench watching Lukes six and finally I recall Han solo coming in and saving the day when Luke was finally flying solo and was about to get owned by Darth

I'm a freelance pilot, I don't remember Han ever having a wingman or needing a squadron. He didn't even want Chewie as a copilot in the beginning because he flew alone. Oh, forget it, I'm speaking to a bunch of narrow visioned, clueless tards.
actually... as a smuggler he hardly went into combat, and by the time he got the falcon, chewie was already his partner. when he was in the imp navy, however, i'm sorry to say, he flew in a TIE wing. If he had to fly into combat (like the battle of nar shardaa) he flew with people on his wing. All the flying he did (while he was training in the navy) he flew with wingman, squads, flight wings. get yer facts straight.
and this for some reason reminds me of you
