Not everything has to be EVEN or Fair. Personally I'm tired of these ground PvP fights that last 30 minutes because of 75% reduction. This game has already been nerfed to hell because of adolescent whiners. If you die from a lucky shot or within 3 seconds of the start of a fight, then that means you were overpowered. Again, nothing wrong with someone being more powerful than others. Deal with it. Nothing wrong with dying before you get a shot off because you were ambushed. That's now fighting works. Simple. Lear how to fight. Learn tactics. Learn not to go PvP if you can't handle someone being better than you. Learn humility... Learn not to cry if you loose.

The reason that ground PVP fights last 30 minutes is because of insane armor resists and buffs. At launch, when PVP damage was normal, PVP was a game of who saw who first. I remember several times in which I was browsing the bazaar and was killed in one shot, without any chance to employ tactics, counterattacks, or heals. When they introduced the 75% reduction in PVP damage, it was a huge improvement to the ground game. Sure, there were broken specials and mind-spamming, but at least it was better than before. You had a chance to use strategy, and fights didn't last 30 minutes or 2 seconds, they lasted a minute or two. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than full PVP damage. Then along came buffs and insane armor, and that's what lead to the 30+ minute fights.

They need to do this to the space game. The 75% damage PVP reduction didn't lead to the imbalance of the ground game. It was one of the few things that made it better before it all went to hell. Think of how much more fun dogfighting in space will be if you have a chance to use missiles, shield management, and all those neat pilot skills you have. Space PVP will be a minute long, heart-pounding blast, rather than a 2 second flash that leaves you staring at the screen saying "what the flick was that?"

yeah flying in circles for 30 minutes instead of 2 seconds

big improvement.

A 75% reduction in PVP damage won't lead to 30 minute dogfights, it'll lead to one minute dogfights.

As of now, PvP dogfights don't exist. It's whoever see's who first, or whoever hits first. My ship can shoot 2 shots in less than half a second, I don't think that's very fair to whoever falls under my target reticle.
