Thread: Add lambda shuttle to flyable imperial craft when ace
SickSix wrote:well, reb, i just noticed that your ships show exterior modifications. so all your ships can look different. which is really cool, I however, being a loyal follower of the Emperor am forced to remain uniform to all my fellow pilots. I just saw a really cool pic of a 'pimped out' X-wing with a flame paintjob and different blasters on the wing. I think that makes up for few ships a little bit. And i hate to tell you but 3 of your ships are the basically the same: TIE/lightduty, TIE, TIE/IN..... all exact in exterior except the IN is blue....
Well you can't blame SOE for the way Imp ships look. I mean what did you expect? Now given we do have a Y-wing LP and a Y-wing but check the ships page of the JTL section. Imps have 6 distinctive ships. Given they can't be painted but thats the price you pay for them sticking to what little of the Star Wars story line they follow. And could someone answer why Freelancer get so much more content than everyone else?
They begin work on the Lamda class shuttle, and the infantry payload imperial shock shuttle (seen in ANOH), and then in compromise they can begin work on the Rebel Transports seen all over the original series.. (Multi.. multi. MULTI.. player ships..)
As a Rebel here as well, I'd have to say we shouldn't devote all our attention to the Freelance and the Empire, but there is a thought, that beyond creatinc Rebel Transports, Medical Frigates, and Mon Cal Super Cruisers..
Is there much more to be designed for the alliance?
I mean do we really need X,Y,Z,F,J, and R wings?
X,A,B,Y almost sound good as far as the fighters are conscerned.. but for the alliance then we should move on to more complicate peices of machinery..

I know i'm asking for a flame but.....Don't you Freelance and Imperials think you have enough choice? I've just noticed Imps and Freelance are always asking for a YT2400, Naboo Fighter or a Lambda but the Rebels keep quiet yet we have the least ammount of models/ships.
Imps,

Freelance,

Rebel,
6?
Your numbers are incorrect. Thecurrent ship numbers are as follows.
Imps - 9 ( or 8 if you group them as mentioned below)
Privateers - 8
Rebs - 7
There was a long discussion on this a while back in a thread. I went so far as to do the ships in groupings myself. After some debating, serveral of us decided that the Imps should be considered to have 8 ships, since the variation between the Tie and the Tie/ln isn't that great. This put the Imps at 8 while the Rebels and Privateers were down one ship each at 7. At the time Privateers were missing a 2 man ship (which has been taken care of with the Krayt) and Rebels were missing a medium fighter. I still feel that the Rebels are missing a fighter that serves as a mid-linebetween the Z-95 and X-Wing (perhaps the "scout" version of the X-Wing mentioned in the Rogue Squadron books or a suped up Z-95). Even with this, I still would like to see player flown Lamdas in game. Maybe give the cert to Imps at Ace and have Rebels do a special mission available at masterto certify them for "stolen" lambdas
Then could put the YT-2400 (though I myself would really like a Privateer multiplayer ship with windows) at master Privateer to balance out the Imps and Rebs getting Lamdas.
Edit: Just an added thought to add to the "stolen" Lamda idea. Make the schem for the Lamda cost Imperial faction points and only be available from Imp recruiters. That way any Lamdas would have to pass through Imperial hands before reaching Rebel hands. Then a Rebel could still get the cert for it, but would have to find a way to "obtain" it
This would make them a little bit rarer in Rebel hands, as they should be.

As for the Lambda, they're not especially powerful offensively - one rear turret and two fixed cannons on the port and starboard nacelles that don't function in this game (they show up on the L's in the ground game, but not in JTL).
Probably the best course of action would be to make the Ye-4 a universal MP ship (Ye-4s aren't exclusively available to Imperials, but to Corsec and gangs like the Black Sun) that you have to complete a quest (after paying a *SUBSTANTIAL* cost in prestige xp) to obtain the cert to fly it, considering it has SEVEN slots for weapons and an enhanced dropship capability due to its larger size.

However accurate or innaccurate your numbers are, you can go ahead and lump the start ship, Tie fighter, Tie/Ln, and maybe even the T/I as counting for only 1 ship. Each is a superset of the other, and once you get to teir 4, excepting maybe the T/i, you'll never use them again.
Rebel ships however, never lose their worth or viablity.

As Imperial pilot on Wanderhome / Corellia I would also like to sign the request for a Lambda Class Shuttle. I see it as the most useful ship for group transport. I would gladly trade my Yacht for one ....
