option 1

I want nothing to do with PVP. Ever. But I like that in Kessel is nothing but tier5 enemies to work on. I know of no other place where you can get consistant tier5s like that. If you make Kessel PVP then you will pretty muchguarantee I will never enter it again. I'm all for you people who like to PVP having the option to PVP, but not at the expense of people like me who do not want to PVP.

Nothing will make Kessel like the way people want it. The reason for being a busy PvP area wasn't because people wanted to PvP there. It was because they had to go there. So the Masters just sat there killing people who didn't want to PvP. The Griefers made their bed and no they have to lay in it.

Or you could just overt before entering Kessel, and simply nod your head in sarcastic mockery when you see a grand total of about one overt person per month in there. For all the talk going on in these forums about making Kessel PvP-enabled again, I haven't been seeing many of you (at least on Eclipse) actually putting your ship where your mouth is.

General PvP can't be done unless they can make certain no one gets spawn camped. If they eliminated the IDIOTIC system of only one h-point leading into the sector and just made it possible to directly hyper into the system to four distinct points, that would alleviate SOME of the problem, but four h-points can be just as camped as one central one.

Read the patch notes. They already made the spawn point random, and made it to where you are invulnerable for the first several seconds. And there was always 3 different spawn points for rebel, neutral, and imperial. But, now they're random.

So that point is now moot.

Also, you people seem to forget about us neutrals too easily. Before, I could go in and PvP, "fight the cops", as a neutral smuggler.

Why would I want to declare myself a "cop" to go fight other "cops"? I can't PvP without declaring Rebel, or Imperial. Well, I'm neither, so now what?

You werent supposed to be able to fight boths sides, so the declaring has fixed this exploit. You must now declare a side and "Roleplay" out your tactics.

Sometimes I wonder if you actually roleplay, Slarus.

Sometimes I wonder if you read people's entire post before you reply.

Exploit?? OMG, Slarus. I take it you weren't in beta. Or, if you were, you surely didn't read the forums. It was that way by design. It will be that way by design once again.

My tactics are to keep my drugs. Both Imperials and Rebels try to confiscate them. I'm not a "nark", so I'm not going to join either police force.

That is roleplay. I'm sorry if it doesn't fit your definition.

Ok let me get this straight. If, in your opinion, you declare CONVERT on either side you feel that you are on that side and should HAVE to PvP it should either not have covert or be easy to "discover" you faction.

BUT

If you are undeclared you should be able to shoot at ANYONE on EITHER side with no reprocussions

And that is roleplaying.

FYI how many bugs have been around since beta? Many but that is not important you have a twisted sens of what roleplaying is, first off you CANT roleplay the same way you do table top (Having written a roleplaying game and having 25 years playing experience you can drop that right now). As a GM you can control any "PvP" that you cant deal with on a MMO (No GMs make it a different game), plus EVERYONE in a table top RPG IS roleplaying and not everyone in an MMO is roleplaying. Plus no amount of claiming to roleplay makes sense for not having any reprocussions on attacking others. You in fact if roleplaying as you put it, open fire on an Imperial you are now a rebel, that is logical you know it you just want it both ways.

Alright. Let me spell it out for you.

I am a smuggler. Even Han himself has said that he has been "boarded by stormtroopers" before. No doubt he has done his share of destroying ships that were released on him after a scan revealed contraband.

After such, he was not labeled a "rebel" at all. Period. He became more known as a smuggler, a criminal element that could care less about the Emperor, or the Alliance's cause. He only became recognized as a Rebel when he helped Obi Wan and Luke (known Rebels) evade the Imperials.

In Kessel, I could enter neutral. For roleplaying purposes, I never attacked first. I would see a "potential hostile", be it Rebel or Imperial, and would begin evasive, "caution"maneuvers immediately. As soon as I was fired on, that person became an authority trying to clean the galaxy of "scruffy-looking nerf-herders". And I had my fair share of wins, even given the challenge of not attacking first.

Your point is now moot.

Secondly, in paper-based RPG (don't throw some sort of "seniority" crap at me. You numbers tell me nothing as I've been playing for longer), the GM, DM, whatever, did not control the PvP, the dice roll did. And the number on the dice was multiplied by whatever modifier you had according to your skill. I hated it sometimes, because, as a Cavalier, Wizards would own me, until I looted some special objects that gave me some protection. Other times, I loved it, as my heavy sword did considerable damage.

In SWG, SOE is the "DM", and the numbers are automatic, instead of having to do it on paper.

Enter "twitch". Simply replace the above "dice roll chance", with the more "player-specific chance" of their own skill. The law of averages plays in it all. It is still roleplay.

The more you talk, Slarus, the less sense you make. I used to see your point. But, now, your "crusade" is beginning to blind you to reason, my friend.
