That scene and the drawn-and-quartered scene from Robin Cook's "Sphinx" freaked me out when I was little. And yes, they still give me chills.
The scariest scene of all time for me was the blood testing scene in John Carpenter's "The Thing" followed only by the captains log playback on "Event Horizon". Freaky!

I'm the captain of our guild's ship, a YKL-37R Nova Courier named Intrepid, historically based on a WWII aircraft carrier of the same name.
From Historic Naval Ships Association (www.hnsa.org):
"USS Intrepid won fame in the Pacific in World War II as the "Fighting I." She survived numerous kamikaze and bomb hits. The carrier fought in the Battle for Leyte Gulf in October 1944. Her combat record includes the sinking of two Japanese battleships and numerous other vessels, as well as the destruction of more than 600 enemy aircraft. Intrepid served three combat tours off Vietnam and twice as NASA Prime Recovery Ship for the manned space program. She was decommissioned in 1974, but was assigned by Congress as the Bicentennial Exposition Ship at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in 1975-76."

My Dunelizard is called "Dragon's Tooth". Reason 1 being that all hutt ships are named after dragons, reason 2, which is more complex, is that an Indian (I think it was indian) tradition, or belief, or fablewas that if they buried the teeth of an animal that a warrior would rise out of the place they buried them, and fight for their army...
Idont know, I remember it from a Voyager episode I saw ages ago... dont even like Star Trek anymore, but there you go! Therefore its a ship that constantly lives again... and it has, it really has!
My Sorosuub 3k is called "Moonlight Sonata" after my favourite Beethoven tune, and since I'm a musician, I turned my ship into a kinda of concert hall... very fitting I thought.

My yacht has a conference room equipped with imp faction furniture and is called "Air Force One"
My kimo fighter, "Bezcenna Aniele", means precious angel in polish. I thought is was about the least intimidating name I could find for a fighter.

My Advanced's name is Voodoo One, after Iceman's plane in the final fight scene in Top Gun.
My Oppressor's name is Wrath of Jehovah since they won't allow you to use the "G" word.

TIE Advanced - Chiggy von Richtoven (space above and beyond, the bas @$$ chig in the LIDAR spoofing ship..Abandon all Hope!)
TIE Interceptor - Screamin' Memei (named after an entertainer friend and the big pink chopper in the 80s show Riptide)
TIE/LN - Rodias Vengeance (it almost matches my skin color..purple rodian)
Sorosuub 3000 - Ecstacy's Wake (a few engine parts in the main room, and in the Capns deck on the top, nothing but a large bed, some candles and a case of brandy)
My Opressor will be names Abandon all Hope and im still mulling over the name for my soon to be Decimator.

For my good ol' Sorusuub, I picked Event Horizon merely 'cause it sounded cool.
I work asa pilot for the RSF, so when I'm staying in-system, I use RSF identification, but when I plan on going to another system (It normally isn't wise to fly around in Hutt space with RSF tags), so I use Subrosa, which means "Under the Rose" which is an old phrase for "Secretly". I thought it sounded fitting.

It'd be funny in your "Event Horizon" ship if when you tried to use the escape pod, a system message came across:
"You can't leave. She won't let you."
"You can't leave. She won't let you."
