Thread: The Jedi StarFighter

Didnt Anakin's Jedi Starfighter get destroyed along with Obi-Wan's when they crash landed into that shuttle platform at the start of Episode III? Both ended up spinning out of control, and then when the ship broke up into two in orbit the shuttle platform was the second half that drifted back into space. Those ships should be completely destroyed and torn appart.
If I'm right, then how is Darth Vader able to give it to you when it shouldnt really exist?

I see your point, though if its only his, how come he has more than one to give away?
because itsa quest that everyone is allowed to do maybe...

Another thing, the ARC-170 is one of the original designs that led to the X-Wing. Incom disbanded from the Empire when they switched their main manufacturer to Seinar Fleet Systems, and went to the Rebellion with the X-Wing designs. So, in a way, the Rebels sort of deserve the ARC-170, especially considering the Queen of Naboo is sympathetic to the Rebellion.
But then again, we are talking SOE and SWG here...
Kuat Systems made the ETA-2. Not Darth Vader. Just because one ship is destroyed doesn't mean that there aren't 10,000 more where that came from. All just waiting for Darth Vader to give you, hehe.
Factoids:
- According to the CSRs I filed tickets with, the Eta-2 Actis II Interceptor (aka JSF) is intended to by flyable only by those who have completed the quest to get it, as an Imperial Combatant - if it actually IS working as designed, CSR's may have been incorrect.
- Deed is tradable, as is ARC-170 deed. Both ships have a 'quest flag' associated with them that prevents them from being unpacked unless the character has completed that quest.
- The most important stat is the pitch and yaw acceleration, which is located on the 'V' component data screen while in-flight. I believe AWing is 4.4, but don't quote me. This indicates how quickly your ship will accelerate to the maximum turn rate of the engine. I assume the JSF has an even better rating given what I have seen of it flying, I went PvE'ing with a friend that has one.
- Side comment: What happens if you reset your Records on Naboo after you earn the ARC-170? Would you lose the ability to unpack the deed after that?
The KSE Firespray is my example for this situation- all pilots have certs for it at Master, anybody can fly it. It has 'universal' controls, apparently. One would think that the new RotW ship certifications would also act in this fashion.
The reasoning given for the piloting certifications and the faction restrictions on starfighters is that the different factions have different control systems, etc. and that special training is needed to fly those ships.
If the ARC-170, Bel-22, and Eta-2 have certifications spread across all Tier 4xxx pilot skills, it would stand to reason that these ships also have 'universal' controls - otherwise an Imperial that switched sides would no longer be able to use the ship even IF Vader gave it to him.
If the reasoning (in-game) behind this is that the Eta-2 has an Imperial-style control set, then the ARC-170 would probably share that, being made for the Clone Army originally.
Basically, given the lack of information about this from the game designers, we can only speculate. I have been disappointed in the lack of the little touches in the game; for example, many of the new Shipwright components don't have a description listed. A large number of them don't tell anything beyond the name of the item. This lack of the little touches makes some of the new content much less interesting than the original game content.

There are only record keepers on tatooine and dantooine, and they only apply to generic town based quests, not added after a certain date. Anything more recent than the record keepers is not covered, neither are Theme Parks. Anything using the Quest Journal most definitely wont be covered.
Well, thank goodness for small favors. I thought that the Theme Parks were ALSO covered; I think I may be confusing that with the Theme-Park specific reset that was offered to me at the Rebel Hideout.
Dumb question: Do you have to be an imperial combatant and an imperial pilot to get the quest from Vader?
My character is currently an imp, but I'm moving over to be a smuggler, so took the privateer pilot tree. Do I have to give up all my privateer skills and start over as an Imp pilot to get the JSF? I hope not. I have no desire to fly a TIE...

I myself dont think this is right, you only have to look at the most recent film to see the fighter used by Obi Wan, as sure rebel as Luke. Furthering this point, the ARCs are used by the cloners - who later become the imperial stormtroopers.
