One to Three days is acceptable! Then I wouldn't mind at all!!

But we are talking about one week...even two weeks in my case!!! And that is unacceptable for a game like this!!! As the whole balance / Economy can shift within a week due to this distribution failure!!!

And the most important case here is that SOE pushes all their responsabilities away (try contacting Customer Services to get the point) and start blaming the European Distributers!! That's just LAME!! As they can't help it as they didn't received a single copy yet!!! so what's there to distribute?? And to blame them for then??

And that the US Players get their copies today/tomorrow says enough to me to see that there is something TOTALY wrong here!!

i wont get mine for a couple of days, quit whining and deal with it. Not everything moves according to the way we would like it to. Alot of folks on my server will be ahead of me by the time I get JTL, do I expect SOE to stop everyone from progressing? No. I deal with it and grind jedi in the meantime lol

With SOE new nice money making feature calling "Account Transfer Service" ....there are enough players around who like to pay $25 to transfer their accounts to a European server.....use it to grind Master Shipwreight fast and have fully stocked vendors by the time European players registering their JTL and start looking for new ships and parts!!

And when they made huge credits and easy grind their JTL professions (Not much competition in Space..so thats easy making XP) they can transfer their accounts back to their favorite server!!

And then you have the players who already wanted to create a new account for Pilot / Shipwreight!! Easy to start on an European server...take the huge advantages and when done transfer their accounts to their favorite server ...or just stay there!!

There are enough players with a FAT bank account in real life who don't care to spend some dollars more or less!!

I'm not sure you understand how the character transfer system works. When you transfer a character to a new server you aren't allowed to take any items or money with you. The only thing you are transfering is the name, appearance, and any skills the character has. So it wouldn't be possible to transfer a character there, corner the shipwright market within a day or two, get rich and then transfer the character back to the original galaxy. Any items or credits you had on the old character would be deleted and any credits or items you make on the new server would be deleted as well.

They wouldn't even be able to get ahead in shipwright skills before anyone else by doing this either because they wouldn't have any resources to grind with, or any money to buy resources. They would have to spend most of their time grinding money (and prey that your character is a TKM otherwise you'll have to spend hours running noob missions to get some crappy weapons) in order to get any resources, and by the time they could even start on shipwright all the other european players would have JTL already.

Honestly I don't see what everyone is complaining about. I understand that you're frustrated that you'll have to wait a few days to a week in order to get your hands on JTL, however most people seem to think that the US is some kind of exception to these kinds of things and that it never happens to us. I hear people whining about "wah, the US always gets stuff first" but that only applies to things which are actually MADE in the US. I know of at least 2 or 3 german MMOGs which have released expansions or new games which were released in europe first and only in america after a couple months later. This also happens all the time with games which are made in japan (the majority of all console games, except recently there are quite a few more US console developers) and aren't released in the US until months or even years later. Just look at FFXI, it was released nearly a full year in japan before it was released in the US.

This kind of thing happens all the time, if it didn't there wouldn't be such a thing as an import market.

True! Absolutely got a point there!

But in this case where aren't talking about console games/FPS/whatsoever, butabout an MMORPG game that thrives on an sensitive ingame economy!!

And the fact that the servers are mixed with different nationalities its REAL IMPORTANT to ship Expansions Global at the same time when adding new features that inflict the ingame economy!!

In this case European will have a hard time getting shipwreight when the servers are already occupied by many US Shipwreights! And it will be real hard to sell your stuff as the recources you need are RARE and very expensive!!

And this is just one example I give you here...knowing that there are many more examples to give!

Actually I mentioned a few german MMOGs in my post as well as a japanese MMOG (FFXI) that were released in their respective countries months if not even years before they were released stateside. As I said earlier I sympathize with the european players, you guys have been getting the short end of the stick recently with the flashspeeder/preorder buiseness as well as a slight delay in the JTL release. However, a few days or even a week isn't really all that bad at all. The fact of the matter is that SOE is an american company, and international distribution isn't as easy as most people would like to believe. Things don't always go as smoothly as planned and sometimes a worldwide release all on the same exact day just isn't possible.

This kind of thing happens all the time, even to us greedy and spoiled americans.

Well,

Its funny that companies like Lucas Arts (aren't they part of SWG too?? hmmm ...let me think ) are sosuccesful in worldwide distribution of their movies/DVD's!! Why is it so hard to do it right with games like this??

With Console games / FPS or other games there is no advantage for getting the game earlier ....but here it is! Thats the only point we Euro Players want to make here!

Lucas Film is responsible for distributing all of the movies. Lucas Arts is responsible for distributing the games. They are 2 different companies which are both under the Lucas liscence. As I have read Acclaim is responsible for distributing Lucas Arts content in europe.

Also as I said earlier console games aren't the only games that have staggered worldwide release dates or shipping problems. MMOG's suffer this same fate at times too, just like in the example I've listed twice (Final Fantasy 11, which is an MMORPG). It was released about a year early in japan giving japanese players a very large head start on american players. It really isn't about giving people an advantage over anyone else or playing favorites, the country in which the game was developed usually gets it first simply because it is the easiest place to distribute it without a lot of problems or complications.

In a perfect world everyone would get a copy of the game/expansion on the exact same day, but sometimes things just happen and delays have to be made for certain regions. These things just happen.

Christ, then quit for pete's sake. I hate to tell you two weeks is not going to destoy your server. I've had freinds come into this game as little as 3 months ago and become master armorsmith and still made a load of cash(up to 4 million now). Now in the year prior there are several well established armorsmiths on my server. Its one to two weeks.
