I bought and I'm loving it. In addition to bringing in space to the game, JTL does a good job with the GCW. When I'm playing JTL, I actually feel like I am involved with the GCW. This game took a major leap towards seeming more like Star Wars, and I commend the Devs for that. I'm just glad they didn't pull and Earth and Beyond and make half the MOBs in space some sort of living creature, which would have given us another version of the ground game.

I bought it and have been enjoying it so far.
Its kind of like Metallica.
The first part of their career they were awesome. Then as time went by, the got old and kind of lame actually. I even lost interestfor a while. But when a new album comes out, I somehow finding myself buying it and liking it for a while.
Not sure if that makes any sense at all, but hey.......!!!

I bought it and I like it.
I am sure I will still play the ground game more after the newness wears off, but it is a great addition to the game.

I have been playing for quite awhile, and a few weeks ago i was actually consider getting it when it came out.....but as I saw more and more of the BUY JTL!!! everywhere i looked, it just made me disgusted and i decided im not gonna buy it. I don't even care if it is good or not, SOE has shown their true character over and over and im just sick of being a fool for so long, SWG could be a great game, and i loveSW butthe devsanger me to no end. at least theones that made the decision to actually publish a expansion for purchasebeforefixing the base game......with so many broken promises, so much crud to deal with i finally just couldnt take it any more. I am doinga fewthings, then possibly quitting SWG for good :
1) I am quitting until the CB is actually published. there is no reason to play currently for me, I am MBH and the terminals are either completely broken for me, or jedi are hiding in their house, exploiting, etc. ( i dont blame the jedi, they wouldnt need to hide if there wasnt such a idiotic penalty for dying, that only takes away the fun of the game for them)
2)If they mess up the CB like i expect them to, then i will quit for good. I am 95% sure they will mess it up, if they do not i really will be surprised. Only thing you could say about that is that the game is so lame already that it cant get much worse, which is not true, it could be worse, but the point is that theres nothing to lose if they screw up the CB, im just not sticking around for it to happen. Why am i staying till then if i think they cant do it? because thats why i have been playing this whole time, the devs play on our hope, and for that they lose any respect i once had for them. they had the ability to bring SW to life in a way never done before, and they failed in their job.
BUT DONT MIND THIS RANTING im just a BH i do this all the time
Im sure JTL is pretty cool, and if i didnt have reasons for not playing i would probably buy it. have fun guys, and i hope the devs fix this game

I am a veteran player and I also beta tested the JTL.
Needless to say, I didn't buy the expansion.

Been playing over a year, and bought it on preorder and same day I threw it out...the oooohs and ahhhs of space are great and looks pretty but after going into combat twice and as soon as I didsuddenly staring at my seat, not looking at space or the people firing at me and then dying netting perfect black HAM and some BF to boot....I'll pass. Wish I tried it in Beta cause I wouldn't have bought it...yes I know thats a bug and i should ticket...but for that to happen twice...someone else with this problem can...the controls are horrid and the fact that there arent onscreen controls makes it worse...if you do get this grab a joystick. And otherwise all those playing it, keep playing so I can get the loot on land

forgot to add which programmer recently got divorced or got a paper cut and cried and neglected to add a clone for space on purpose or not...take it you blow up, but even on landif you get chewed up, poisoned, hacked to death with an axe, or shot in game you can atleast clone with no wounds (meaning the 400HAM and 400BF per session)...shame on you mr programmer!

well i was in beta and have been playing SWG almost since launch.
And as you said after the WOW factor wears off the game is just nice visuals and no real content.
I agree, this shouldnt have been an expansion, but an update. But i dont see the point in buying the game as im soon leaving the game anyway.and i didnt like the master missions beeing forced in to PvP.
But who know's,im so sick of the unbalnced, broken PvP ground game.Whit this game looking more like KOTOR or Jedi academy. But i will stick arround for my cuomunity and guild for about 2 months. maybe i will buy it just to keep me at bay whit the game. But i doubt it thou.
Just waitning for MxO to be released.and As most of my friends have left or are about to leave the game. got a full friend's list whit old ingame friends that have quit,i dont have much funn in the game anymore. getting bored after beeing online for 10-20 min everyday.
Instead im roaming the foroum's lol.
So a weak maybe to buying JTL. but whit a big doubth i will ever see it on my mashine. hehe

To All,
Thanks for the responses, it is interesting to see how veteran players feel about JTL. I know when it is was first announced, it certainly sparked great hope for the game, and I think it still does. The excitement many of us beta testers felt when we first able to experience JTL soon diminshed after a few days of playing, I can only hope this same excitement continues for current JTL players and that after enough playing time they aren't discouraged as well. I know many say this release is very different from what we all may have experienced in beta, but recent posts to this forum seems to quell that notion and sound all too familiar.
While I am still on the fence as to whether or not I want to buy the expansion, reading this forum and its recent messages in regards to JTL issues will at surely keep me from dropping cash on it for at least a little while longer.
invayder : I Hope you get better, get back on-line and enjoy everything about SWG/JTL that you ever wanted to!
Blackjack_Nova : Your reasoning is right on, and I agree with you - it is the same reasons why I have never cancelled my acct and I am still playing the ground game.
