This seems like an intermittent bug, since i was able to create the yacht and destroy it and I did get my lot back. I did it twice for good measure to make sure, and even took it out in space and back. Odd...

You're right. I closed down my yacht since I wasn't using it and when I checked I didn't get my lot back.
I wrote to soe and I'm waiting on their response now. So you're not the only one this has happen to.

Mine ate a lot too. Destroyed it and never got the lot back. now when I generate a new one, it takes ANOTHER lot. The Sorosuub has really screwed me.

Glad I didn't use mine then...
I went to use it when I first got JTL and saw that it took a lot just to use. It should at least have an option to not take a lot if you don't use it for storage or placing items.
I wound up sticking it in my bank, where it'll probably stay unless they remove the lot requirement.
Some Veteran Reward: We reward veteran players by giving them a nice reward....Only if they give up one of their precious lots and if they spend money to buy JTL.....No Money, No Lot, No Reward.

yea the yacht ate my lot when I got rid of it for my nova... and its been three days now and I'm still mission my lot. I have a lot to take care of and this stupid worthless ship ate my lot. I have a guild hall and my house and I had to transfer my house to my alt just to use my nova because the stupid yacht ate one of my lots and I can't get it to give it back. I've bugged it and sent in tickets and still nothing. I NEED MY LOT. /flameoff

I had this problem myself. This is a DATAPAD glitch, a very serious one that only spawned since I'd say Nov. 12 last week. Contact CSR, and wait to hear from them in-game, and they'll fix it. In the meantime, don't delete the yachts unless you have to, or untli they fix it.
Again, this is a DATAPAD glitch, one that prevents you from deeding ships or calling vehicles.

I totally agree that the veteran award taking a lot SUCKS! I have the PA Hall on my name and a small naboo house, no slots open. So I couldn't make my ship. After a while I found out that if I put money in the PA Hall 2 slots opened up (our leader pay the maintenance of our PA Hall from the tax pot). But the argument of having a house in space, great, but useless. So everytime I would need something I stored in my ship I have to go to space and then back. The argument that you also have to travel to your house is true butmost of the time I am closer to my house then loading inand out of space to get stuff.
And I totally agree with Notatti's post.
But all the rest, I love the game

I'm really upset.
That Yacht is not a reward
it is a punishment for me.
If I would have known about loosing

Uh, did you NOT read what was said three posts up? It's a DATAPAD GLITCH, calm down. SOE will fix it when they can and you'll get your lots back. Yes it sucks, but you don't have to get your panties in a bunch about it. It'll be fixed when it's fixed.
It's a game. Chill.
