I agree, ships must have permanent paints job and you can change it only when you want to.

My favorite EU "YT-1300" was the one where the side pod style cockpit was removed and it was put more centered on the ship so the cockpit was just above the opening "mandibles" at the front of the ship. Cant recall atm who owned it in the EU but we had one made in that style for a PnP RPG starwars crew.

Are you thinking of the one from X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter or that Alliances (or whatever it was called) game? I'd love to get one of those ships.

I want something different from everyone else (Hutt fighter or something) but I also want to be able to walk around in it. So I guess i'll have to have two ships.

We all want more passenger ships, but they are strapped in the art department. SWG is officially 'finished' with the launch of SE. Expect Publishes to introduce new craft steadily over the months to come after release.

I'm not for having permanent paint jobs because we need to keep as much interdependance between professions as possible.

On the other hand, I would like them to remain effective for more than just a couple of days.

Isn't that the YT-2000? I think it had the pilot cab in the middle with a long connecting tunnel to the cargo hold. I like that one too .

It may be but in the RPG book we had it was a modified YT-1300. The rest of the ship including interior was almost identical to the standard one even.

If the paint we apply to the ships are not permanent I will not even waste my time bothering with it. The devs obsession with this decay crap has totally blinded them! How could they not see that making the paint on vehicles permanent until the users want to change it would have generated repeat business for the paint? Clothes do not fade but I and many still buy new clothes because we get tired of the same thing. Now the devs stubornly refuse to fix the vehicle paint issue that the should have gotten right in the first place.

I think paint needs to be semi permanent... Paint the ship the colors you want, then as your ship gets battle damage, and repairs the orginal color fades off and becomes Patchy...

Thus creating a Ship with the Star Wars look of it being well used... the orginal color is still there, but in a way that its like the Falcons orginal Pure white color... Its a Bit dirty and blasted off, but you can still tell that it was once white...

Also considering its a vehicle the Vehicle paint Kits should be able to work on the Starships, but cost 2 charges to do the Main Hull color and 2 for any Trim colors... Thus making them useful...

and I agree the Devs need to get away from this thinking of Paint decaying off of our vehicles.

I gotta say paint comes way down the list of my priorites or get this done right prior to live for JTL.

If they get everything else right and paint is only lasts for 2 days, well I candeal even though my heart will break...
