xp reward has to do with overall threat. B-Wings and Y-Wings carry blasters and missiles, while X-Wings and A-Wings carry just blasters. Thus, B-Wings and Y-Wings are viewed by the game dynamic as being more of a threat than a fighter.

A-Wings are also the least-armored of the four Rebel fighters, meaning they earn the least xp.

Just be thankful they don't travel at 1099kph anymore at Tier 5. At least at 989kph, the nerfed reward engines can keep up with them at 85% throttle with EO3.

Tier 5 Z-95s share the same flight profile as Droid Fighters, I think - they're a much larger target, though.

I have to say A-wings are the absolute WORST. I hate having to worry about them, but I guess that is the idea... so I wasn't surprised. What did surprise me was the the Y-wing is so agile. Even constantly matching speed, they squirm all over the place. Granted, I am flying an interceptor (not the most agile ship in the imperial fleet), but the Y is a bomber for goodness sake!

A-wings are easy to take out. Where have you guys been?

All you do is agro one, then fly in the opposite direction at full speed (703 in my case) until there's about 900 meters between you. Then slow to attack speed, turn, and joust. He'll fly straight at you, providing a nice "stationary" target - make sure you have his engines targeted. Rinse and repeat. With this tactic, I can usually take one down in perhaps 30-45 seconds, roughly the same amount of time as a B-Wing (as long as I'm not using WOC4).

If I agro more than one at once, I don't worry too much, since they tend to only know one speed - full thrust. That gives them only a few seconds of firing time before they zip past me. But in this case, I disable one before moving on to the next, just in case my shields hate me.

Good tactic, never tried it until now. Works like a charm
