Here's a strategy for that CorSec mission.

1. You did not mention the ship you are flying. If it is a Rhyk, go to something smaller. Dunelizard style-1, heavy scyk, actis-2, or grievious. I did this mission solo in a Dunelizard.
2. You need a big shield (REd Level 8 reward shield is best if you can) and a decent capacitor (>1k energy, >40 recharge). Be sure to run cap overload 4. You should also have a chaff or sensor decoy launcher for those missiles.
3. When the gunboats and fighters spawn, IFF scramble and move out of the way. Let your CorSec buddies engage and gather aggro from everything.
4. After a minute or two, charge one of the gunboats. Joust it from head-on. I used Concussion IIIs to speed things up, launching 5 every pass. Booster away when you have to turn and hit CtSS. Keep going in a straight line until you have your shield and capacitor mostly charged up. The gunboat will chase you. This is a little harder with a Mark IV shield. Target the engine or reactor to stop it. When stopped, finish it off from the blindspot.
6. Take out the other gunboat in the same fashion.
7. The fighters are easy at this point.

The gunboats do NOT turn like fighters. When you fly past it, hit numlock and watch it turn. It takes it a little while to make a 180 to face you again. By that time, you should be >1500m away.

Personally, I would like the missions to be harder, not easier. I guess I'm a bit of a freak that way.
