They all do one thing: Nuthin.

Some can have modules programed into them to store stuff, act as a crafting station, anda tent. The only combat droid right now is the Probot, but Droidekas are coming soon.

I started doing my first BH missions last evening and what a blast it is. Thanks to Zango for the help, but I do have one question. Where do i acquire these seeker droids and other types of droids from? Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll have to buy them from a Droid Engineer. I recommend checking on the board for your server (Tempest) to see if any advertise there.

Alternatively, check www.swgyellowpages.net for the location of a vendor - or just look on your world map in the game and see if a DE has put up the location of his shop there.

You don;t need them untill investigation 2.

I and many others will recommend that you do missions untill you get at least 7k exp, then train invest 1 and 2 at the same time.

At 2 you will need Arakyd and seeker droids. Arakyd are used first after talking to the informant. You need to be outside a city to use an Arakyd.

Also by the time you accumulate 10k exp from novice investigate missions you should have at least 500k in bank, plenty enough to get you up to invest 4. I started Novice investigate missions with 20k in bank...

Yeah, just grinding BH XP will get you plenty of cash, I know that first hand. I don't think it's as much as grinding regular missions of high difficulty, but I could be wrong (maybe if you stay in Coronet so you don't shuttle anywhere...).

Technically, droids are needed at Investigation I, where you get a Bounty Hunter Mission Difficulty +1 skill mod; however, since we're all talking about skipping inv1 and training straight into 2, I know what the one reply meant. Also, you only need 6k BH XP minimum to get into inv3 (1k for 1 and 5k for 2). But honestly, I would (and I did)bank 10k BH XP. Once you train, you can do all the droid-using missions you want, and you'll _never_ be able to do easier ones again, so why not enjoy it as long as you can?

I doubt anyone here can answer that, but you can check out the Droid Engineer profession forum, they can do something for you.

There's no shame in asking RTFM questions any more, because these days, there are just too many FM to R.

There are several types of droids of which only 2 have any value from a function standpoint.

A Droid can have modules installed in them. R2D2 being able to hold all 5 different types. All other droids can hold 1-2 different types, depending on the droid. Currently there is no limitation on what droid can have what - a repair droid can have medical and a medical can have repair any droid can have any module.

So what are the 5 different modules you say?
-Item Storage (up to 6 levels of quality)
-Data Storage (up to 6 levels of quality)
-Droid Repair
-Mobile Medical Center (up to 6 levels of quality, level 6 being 110 med rating)
-A Mobile Crafting station (only 1 of the 4 types per droid)

Generic to any droid is its armor rating (a 6th module I guess you could say - all droids have this in addition to the 1, 2 or 5 modules it can have installed). There are 6 levels of quality for Armor, level 6 being 40% resists to all.

R2D2 and Probot are the only 2 droids worth getting from a functionality standpoint.

R2D2 can have all 5 modules installed (only 1 type of crafting station like the rest), level 6 armor and be the perfect droid.

Some people might like the probot due to the fact that it can fight. It’s not that great but hey if you have a creature pet, 3 faction pet soldiers and a probot whos going to mess with you?

2 unique droids worth mentioning. The binarary Load lifter (master DE’s only) is totally worthless. It cannot have any modules and performs no function. The Power droid is nifty – it has a built in recharge function that charges up a droid. The tradeoff is that it can only have 1 module built into it. In case you didn’t know droid need to be recharged every 15-30 minutes or so. Much like pets with food – the more you use them the more hungry they get.

Hope this helps.

Xadius

Binary Load lifters are completly worthless as they can have no modules/stations.

Just in case I wasnt clear if you get anythign other than a R2D2, power droid, or probot, you are getting it for looks. Thats totally cool, but R2D2 is definently the most useful. Power droids can charge and probot can fight (handy for in the feild healing and crafting too)

One other thing I forgot to mention:
Repair droids, C3po and Medical droids can talk. They can have 1 of 5 personality chips installed in them (sarcastic, prissy, stupid, worship and something else)

These droids cannot have a functioning repair module insalled in them (it can be installed but will not work) Pretty ironic in the repair droids case, eh?

DE's are bugged to hell, have pity for them.

...and one final thing I forgot. Another unique droid is the bounty hunter seeker droids. If you are not a bounty hunter, do not buy these, you cannot use them. They are supposed to lead a bouty hunter to his/her prey.
