i want to say you get 40k prestige for killing the rebel base, but im not positive about that. the thing about the old 'figure 8s' is this, you counteract that and make the guns track better and is it any more fun for anyone? maybe it really would be fun to require 20 man teams to take it down, but i assume they were figuring enough people would eventually be there to make it an extreme challenge.

i'd really like to see the bases dockable. i'm talking dockable, andyou spawn there if you launched from there. if it's destroyed you spawn back where you initially launched. get a small cantina in there, small cloner, med center, get a culture going in there. make it some place players want to be there and make it easy for them to be there. the final objective is to make things fun for everyone and right now zones have the potential, but it just needs a bit more.

the bases in other zones should be dockable with manable guns as well, i mean why not? have low level tie spawns assualt the base for turret target practice, heck make them level ones so players who are just messing around have something to do. we think about those old wing commander games, and the atmosphere they had and some of the best parts were interacting on these permanant space fixtures. the simulator. the training excersizes. the kill board. etc. theydid capturesome of that with the multiplayer ships but it needs a bit more, and spreading people across the galaxy in these "space outposts" isn't a bad thing.

JTL really does feel like an impressive combination of flight from the old xwing and wing commander games and that's part of the reason i love it so much, but in combining the two, they left out some crucial immersive aspects of both games. it's good news that it doesn't sound (to me at least) like it would be that difficult to add those things to the game though.

Erop brings up a good point: why doesn't the SD use bomberstrike100 or something? Insignificant individual pilots can call strikes all over the universe, but the SD can't?

I guess this means they still haven't given these star destroyers a full compliment of ties like they should.

What kind of missiles do you use when you attack one of these. i'd think spacebombs but you only get a few of them in a pack.

I like protons shooting 2 or 3 at once. Usually enough to disable a component of a corvette.

Stuff like these, my friend, have kept me away from SWG for nearly 3 months already. And I'm almost Imperial Ace, but just don't have the will to play this game anymore...

Imagine this though....

Along comes a solo-ISD killer and the first shot on the ISD klaxons go off in the ISD and the players make their way to their ships or manable turrets... Bye bye Solo-ISD Killer

Sometimes it does, sometimes not.

I have had more then a few times when 2 fleets (1 GB, 1 Decimator, 12 ties each, or something close) have spawned and ate me to pieces.

But I guess its like real life. Sometimes the ships are available sometimes not.

The core issue is how dificult to make things. I can get to the Acklay solo and kill it, but I would rather do it in a group. The star destoryer is soloable, bit much much more fun in a group. If they made it such that the few players want to try to solo can never do it, it would be so hard that most groups would have problems. Games like this are all about balance, in many ways. I learned how to solo it from doing the map (look in sig) for when I go after it with groups. since I finished it I have not bothered to solo, but have gone up with a group a few times.

AMEN, LOL!! But wouldn't it be awesome to just be watching a dancer and a listening to a band play- basically just chilling with your friends- when the claxons go crazy- everyone in the cantina drop what they are doing and all run to hangar, where there is a terminal (but you can see all the TIEs being prepped for launch, moving really slowly, and you see some TIEs moving outside, like windows on a multi ship) where you launch from. Then boom goes the lone idiot, and everyone goes back to have a drink...
