Ok, there has been a lot of deliberation on what should become of the freelance pilot profession, and there is no solid argument that we (neutral pilots) don't have it worse off. We are worse off, to figure that out all you have to do is push Control+S. Here are some ideas I have:
First off, we need a master level 1-man fighter. An option could be making the Firespray craftable and available only to us, but that will never happen because everyone else will want it back (btw, all you faction-aligned pilots thinking of shooting my ideas down as "whining", just think of the situation, and put yourself in our shoes). An alternative to solving this is making the YT-1300 able to be manned and gunned by 1 person, and not doing this to any other multi-player ship.
Skills are another area where neutral pilots lack. We have 4 skills, pirate call, iff transponder thingie (which everyone has), emergency thrust, and energy pulse. I think a skill we should have is the ability to make a hyperspace jump instantly during combat so we dont have to wait for it to calculate, but it damages the ship's engine. That would be kinda cool in combat.
Another area get the royal shaft in is astromech/flight computer. I think every single pilot, imperial, rebel, or neutral, should be able adjust shields on the front and the rear. Thats all I want in the catagory.
Neutral chasis have worse mass than other professions, which is why it would be cool to have special ways to have lighter parts just for neutrals. Maybe Imperials and Rebels can't put in these parts because they are not "standard military grade" or whatever, but since neutrals have no one looking over their shoulder, we can put in our "modified parts". Maybe smugglers could slice ship parts, like Han Solo would have, and only neutral pilots can use the illegally modified parts. That would be cool.
Thats all that really stands out in my mind, and please, dont pass this post off as whining or complaining, because all other pilot professions would be complaining if they were in neutral shoes. Heck, they did complain to get the KSE Firespray. So just chill, and don't complain about this post if you are a Rebel/Imperial pilot, because it really doesn't affect you.

Ok, but you guys have the boosting of your weapons, and the bomber strike thingy. Also, Imperial chasis' are more maneuverable, much much more maneuverable.

You have pirate trap (when it works). And the weapon boost is overrated. Our first two skills have the ability to shut down _ALL_ our systems for an indefinate amount of time (pump reactor and emergancy weapons).
