You have pirate trap (when it works). And the weapon boost is overrated. Our first two skills have the ability to shut down _ALL_ our systems for an indefinate amount of time (pump reactor and emergancy weapons).
The only reason I would use pirate trap is if I've been disabled and the sucker is taking too long to kill me. (Eject gives you twice the damage and bf). Then I just use pirate trap to finish me off faster.

Just so you guys know . . . pirate trap spawns up to 3 tier 1's.
Haven't tried trap 2 though. Also, they might turn on you. This isn't a biggie, considering anyone about tier 2 can one shot them, but it's a waste when you could have used IFF or ethrust.
And I'm with the imps that say they could use a bit more mass. To be fair though, your ships are VERY maneuverable. I think the T/I should be boosted, and well as the T/Adv. But once you look at the ships you have by the time you hit master, compared to privateer, you guys deifinately have an upper hand. Take a look
Imp ships over 100K
Aggressor - 120K (fighter)
Oppressor - 140K (fighter)
T/Bomber - 190K (bomber)
Now look at Privateers
Rihkxyrk - 130K (Bomber)
. . .
Yes, that's it. The closest thing we have to a 100K fighter is the Ixiyen at 80K.
Best light figher? 30K. Utterly useless over tier 3

But compare _both_ our factions to the rebels.
yeah, I know . . . they have one ship UNDER 100K .. . the awing. (I don't count the Z-95)
Priv < imp <<<<<< Rebel
It's quite sad really. But look at it like this:
Everyone has the option to be a privateer. Basically, everyone can either
a.) Pick from rebel or privateer
b.) Pick from Imp or privateer
Looking at that, most people will veer away from privateer because it's simply worse than either faction. Remember the ground game after release? Everyone was a TK master or Pistoleer. Yeah, great fun right there. It took a lot of balancing to make all professions desirable. The same needs to be done in space. Make the privateer a viable alternative to a factioned profession. I've already seen players quit privateer cause the factioned ones were better . . . and they really wanted to be privateer.

The Y-wing is the slowest, least maneuverable brick in the game, Imp and nutral ships fly circles around me, when I go for Imp.'s I have to disable their engines just so they can't run away and leave me in the dust. Each faction has its good points, and its bad points, learn to use different tactics, against different enemys. But last but not least, come over to the side of freedom and equality, join the rebellion

-shudders- Don't remind me of release... I was a rifleman and was slaughtered by pistol users at almost any range.

I had no problems at all with manuvering a Y-wing as long as I slow a bit to turn. I have a hot key to set my speed at .66 so I can toggle back and forth between 2/3 and full speed.
I personally don't have a problem with most of Privateer. The only thing I do have a problem with is the lack of a Master level fighter. I know I'll get flamed for this... But, I think the Firespray should be privateer only. If you want to be an Imperial, then fly Imperial craft. If you want to be a Rebel, then fly rebel craft. Both Imperials and Rebels can choose to be Privateer pilots if they like. If they don't make the Firespray a privateer only ship, then they should give us our own master level fighter.
As far as the YT-1300 being flown solo goes. I say leave it as a multi-player ship. This has been argued over and over again in beta and even after beta. Leave MP ships to the groups.

I agree with you, but the Firespray will never be limited. No matter how much we get flamed for complaining about our profession, hypocrits will complain about not getting a firespray.

Oh don't get me wrong mate, I don't have a problem withmy Ywing, my point was that you can't fly it like a z-95 or xwing, its a different ship, a bomber not a fighter. And yes different ship's have a 'sweet spot' where the turn and roll, is much better (and that sweet spot is not at 100% power).
I /agree the firespray should be priveteer only, but how would wanna fly that old piece of junk ![]()

Well I am not trying to campaign that the firespray should be neutral only cause it will never happen. I mainly want neutrals to have a master level fighter for neutrals that is comprable to the b-wing, and is just as easy to craft. Also some more diverse skills other than energy pulse, emergency thrust, and call-weak-pirates-that-attack-you
