So, with the ships being player crafted we can expect what...??? that theyll cost around 30 to 40 million credits and no one in the game will be able to afford them. So we go out spend a bunch of cash on the expansion, hope to god its not buggy, have our monthly rates increased, and then cant even fly because we cant afford to purchase a ship in game. That sounds pretty good to me, where do i sign up?
I guess through the sarcasm im trying to say, lets not ruin the economy on this one. Make it so that everyone can afford a good ship when the time comes.
If ships are player-crafted (which they should be, like most items in the game), then yeah, the first day the expansion comes out, they will surely cost A LOT, because only a few people will be able to make them...and a few crazy people will pay it. Then, as more and more people improve in ship-building rank, the price will start going lower and lower. It's just supply and demand. So, even though most people will not be able to afford a ship on the first day, soon enough the prices will go down.
And, if you have a friend who's going to make ships, I'm sure you can get a good deal.

This is all really exciting, cool screenshots and all, but I'm wondering:
I haven't played a mmog before swg, so not too familiar with expansions like with EQ genre games. So for any of the experienced gamers out there, after you buyan expansion, is it generally an additional monthly cost to play it on top of the core game? or do you still keep paying for your account as always?
I guess I am wondering about this because, I'm sitting here thinking, OK gotta start artisan now and save tons of resources to build my own ship becauseits possible that player crafted ships will be going formega credits when youreferencethe inflated prices on swgjust for special loot drops.
The whole player economy will be interesting when this comes out, but I'm just hopingthat this expansion isnt unaccessible to the avg casual gamers who dont have uber millions of creditsthat weonly begin to experience "Jump to Lightspeed", say 6 months or more after release. I hope this is totally off base in, but the devs did say when the core game came out, that they timed the release for SE so that existing established players of swg could transition into the SE.
Will be looking forward to reading about more information on the expansion as it is released. Oh btw, cough, cough,I have high oq avian meatfor 500 cpu, cough.....JK
