trying to use my old ps analog pad... worx fine, but too sensitive-cant be adjusted,no force
so now watched some newer sticks...
but i still need suggestions, pls
need a stick with:
-maaaany buttons, including 1 or 2 shifts... btw it says on some saitek it had 2 shifts... is that 1 function on 2 buttons, or 2 functions???
- force feedback
-general good quality (centering, feeling, adjustability, handling)
-maybe wireless (are there any with force+wireless?...usb is limited to 3m, right?(have my cpu 10m away:-)
my choice would be saiteks evo force, but it aint wirelss... anyone has it?how longs the cable??isit worth 60€??
thx for any advice
For a reasonably priced stick the saitek x45 has the most buttons. The x52 is the new version but saitek and LA are working together to get it to work in JTL so I'd hold off on buying one till it works.
Wireless does not have force feed back because the batteries can't run the servos. I don't really like forcefeedback myself. It's fun for a while but in the long wrong it's just a hassle.
For a good quality stick I would recommend a logitech. Microsoft is a good stick as well but they are discontinued.
As far as distance from the computer, you can pick up a usb extension cable that will addmore lengthto the cord of any stick (i'm not sure the exact length limitations on USB and what happens when you get past them), I think they usually cost around $10 or $15 US.
Most sticks out now should have more than enough buttons to setup the way you want. I guess you'll need to determine what all you want to program to the stick and get an actual button count before you buy a stick.

My 2 cents on a couple of those sticks.
The Saitek x45 may look kinda cool but it feels very awkward to handle and almost too toy like in it's action. Also if you can find enough deskspace for it, god bless you.
I personally use the Saitek Cyborg 3D gold, and I can tell you it is a very nice stick. It can be converted easily to left or right handed, and is very smooth and responsive. Has a fairly simple throttle bar which gets the job done well. I have no idea how SOE plans on utilizing programmable joysticks but this stick probably has plenty of buttons for anything the JTLS will throw at us.
Friend of mine bought a Saitek Evo, and i must say, yes it has lots of adjustments and looks kinda cool, but using it is very average.
ok..
i went with the saitek evo wireless
goddamn since its installation (usbdriver)it f´d up my firewall, which i cant reinstall since..also the stick never worked...damn it felt really nice
and the usb issue.. i asked my tech guy in work and he stated usb specs are limited to bout 5m, but u can extend it with a usb->cat5 adapter and back
the x-series ...hmm dunno bout hotas...need a hand for the keyboard aswell...
thx anyways...
