Thread: Is it worth it?

Ok, I was a long time SWG player, and around September 2004 I quit playing due to school. Now that I have some free time again, I wanna get back into the game. Anyways, to make a long story short, I want to know if Fencer is worth keeping. My current template, not respec yet, is MFencer/MBrawler/MSwordsman/NoviceMedic. Because of CU there is no more stun damage, and Fencer somewhat lived off of it. My plans are to go MBH/MPisoleer/Medic. What to you guys think?

Well, what about MFencer/TKM/MSwords or something... Is Fencer any good in PVP any more? Pretty much that's all I do is PVP, and that's all I really care to do.

i'm currently TKM/mFencer/mSwords and it's awesome.


played well, you will not lose a duel to a mundane are a tough mofo/welcome addition to any group. (smugglers with concussion shot/root will be the biggest pain in the as5 when out in the open, but you can still take'em if you're even a little crafty).


fencer has some very useful pvp specials. advanced lunge (does more dmg than improved lunge), cripple (one of, if not the only snare for melee's. reduces opponent to walking speed). blind (useful), and bind (slows down action regeneration by at least 50%, very handy).


try it out, it's fun.

Sweetness... What about armor? What armor class is Fencer? And what types of armor should I use? Also, before I left I had a 290-380 damage stun baton... what happens to it?

MFencer/MBrawler/MPikeman/4000tka/0410swords

(although I was MFencer/MBrawler/MPikeman/3430 medic til i realised how useless those minimal medic skills are now with the forced grouping)

&

MBH/MPistoleer/0404SL


wouldn't change a thing about them

What's your DPS? As a MBH, you can wear composite correct?

my modified dps is 500-510 with 290-300 base dps pistols (no attachments or anything). If you're able to get the 0404 Squad leader...do it...add that to mp/mbh you have the highest amount of defense possible for a ranged profession, and you're really able to tank almost like the pikeman/tk do.


also if you get this 0404 you canuse thequested flare pistol, a 325 base dps with a SAC of only 80


and yes to the composite

i think fencergets battle armor cert, but i'm not sure.


if you end up going TKM/fencer/swordsman, just run around in clothes - TK gets innate armor on par with very good crafted armor. you can still wear mabari belts, ubese shirts, and PSG's.


keep cob on AT ALL TIME's, by the way.

because i had that exact same template and to last against really any jedi you have to have 4000 doc imo

because i had that exact same template and to last against really any jedi you have to have 4000 doc imo









D stims help alot plus tkm defenses with COB rock out aloud for this type of stuff also grap a PSG for Saber dmg









yeah, D stims and timing them well.

Even with doc, beatinga fully templatedjedi is aVERY tall order-and if they have defender..heh. g'luck!

but it does take a jedi a little while toget you down.

CoB + innate armor holds up pretty well, as well as your damage dealing capability.


The biggest problem fighting jedi as a mundane is they drain the crap out of your action so it's difficult to land big hits - and when you do, they can insta-heal whatever headway you make.


the best tactic i've seen is to store up your action, use armor break, KD, then headhit(or bodyhit)/critical hit as many times as you can before he gets up. you will come very close to incapping him.


i might try a double melee/doc template now that they've tweaked the healing levels of doc...but i'm about to enter my jedi grind so i'll have to do it on the alt (which will take time).
