What type of droid will we need as a rebel pilot? Are there anyspecifications on the droid that affect how well they perform, and what should I look for when buying a droid for JTL (never owned one before).

Rebel Pilots use Astromech units as in the move (on most, if not all of their ships) They need to have program chips installed in them (there are different levels of storage/programs/droids that you gain as you go up in level). As far as what you should look for? Ask your friendly neighborhood DE.

Good question! I don't think so, and I doubt it.

If it's your ship your friends will be put back on the ground when you log out.
Escape pods.... to be honest when i'm up in a furball and the eject button comes on screen I fight until my engnies are blown off or my weapons are blown off (yes they actually get blown off of your ship) at which point I click the eject button and there is an animation of the ship blowing up and it respawns at the station where it gets repaired. I haven't been up in the YT-1300, Nova, or Decimator so I don't know if they actually have escape pods like we saw 3PO and R2 get into inANH. Would be cool though... if nobody else replies between now and then I'll get on tonight and hitch rides in each of the 3 to find out for ya.

Here are all the masses of the ships. This comes from Odon_Pazzmarr's Ship buyers guid that will be comming very soon. I helped with it too
Imperial:
TIE Advanced (4) 65,000 mass
TIE Aggressor (4) 120,000 mass
TIE Bomber (3) 190,000 mass
TIE Fighter (1) 20,000 mass
TIE Interceptor (3) 50,000 mass
TIE Light Duty: (Novice) 12,000 mass
TIE Oppressor: (Master) 150,000 mass
TIE/IN (2) 40,000 mass
Decimator (Master) 500,000 mass
Neutral:
Dunelizard (1) 70,000 mass
Ixiyen (3) 70,000 mass
Kihraxz (2) 30,000 mass
Kimogila (2) 90,000 mass
Rihxyrk (4) 130,000 mass
Scyk (Novice) 12,000 mass
YT-1300 (Master) 500,000 mass
Rebel:
Z-95 (Novice) 12,000 mass
Y-Wing (1) 150,000 mass
Y-Wing LongProbe (2) 170,000 mass
X-Wing (3) 100,000 mass
A-Wing (4) 65,000 mass
B-Wing (Master) 240,000 mass
Nova Courier (Master) 500,000 mass
Now these are experimented to 50%, so you can get a little on both sides of these numbers.

You will need an Astromech droid with a data storage module. The size and quality of the data storage module decides which certification level the droid will be. For the B-wing and A-wing (and all the imperial craft) you will need a flight computer.
My suggestion would be to not bother upgrading your droid everytime you get a new certification, that's just going to cost you a bundle.

This question is about the damage model of the ships.
1. If someone hits me in the left engine for instance is damage limited to that area of the ship? In other words , where the blasteractaully strikes the ship is that where the damage occurs or is it a random thing?
2.How do the explosives work in missles? Is therean area effect? Can launching 1 damage other ships close by?
3. Friendly fire? What happens if in a dogfight ifI accedently hit another friendly ship?
4. Is the ordanace such as missles longer range then the blasters? If so how much?
5. What is the maximum range you can attack another ship in space? Is there a minimum range for expendables like missles?
Thanks
