I was thinking of doing Fort Tusken once I am higher up the tree's so I guess for that fanshot is the king?

depends, if you single pull your smuggler skill set is good, but if you decide to go and kill groups of them at once, then yes, fan shot is king.

Fanshot is great and the defenses are to but all in all I think the smuggler specials are better then that whole branch of pistoleer. I went Dirty Fighting first but then i wanted to master smuggler.

I agree that smuggler specials are better as a whole, especially for pvp,but I also think they are quite situational. Most of Dirty Fighting is geared for One on One Combat I think and rightly so. A single target, knockdown, a single target damage shot, and while panic shot has an aoe effect, I find that my warcry 2 is far more preferable to use as they close in on me.
When grinding, depending on your style of getting xp, some methods are preferable. Personally I like fighting 10 monsters at once, instead of fighting one at a time. My down time is pretty much the same on either one (Nil), so Fan Shot is preferable for me.
I can kill one huntress in 15 shots, or I can kill2+ of them at the same timein 15 shots. The choice was easy for me.

Well in Fort Tusken you can fight the first 2 tuskens in the cave one by one but after that it's 10 on one so I think I will get fanshot first but don't worry I have every intent on mastering smuggler. Thanks for all the helpfl reply's.

a TEF from getting searched would only be a GCW one, using mind trick would make the ST rebel but would give you a jedi TEF, not much of a trade off there
