all the rewards so far are account based, not much concern what toon it is in the past. As for people asking for a 4th place to hold this "useless" ship come on already. The 3rd slot was the bonus for it, the original specs the devs spoke to were for only 2 ships.

As I said before this is a great ship and will be very popular among a large number of players.

And one more thing again, stop telling SOE they are so bad because no retail outlet in your part of the world worked a deal like gamestop or EB. Feel free to flame them on all the other things they &%^#&)$% like TC being down for 8 hours on Monday - maybe we should have asked what what planet they were using to get their hours because on earth it was several days.

Why not simply limit the number of items u can have in any MP ship to a reasonable level?

And also please answer the Hyperdrive question.

Thanks

Otherwise players would load up both ships and it would lead to a lot of dead database space.

Rereading a bit...maybe this means you can leave deco in one multiplayer ship and still use a fighter w/o undecorating?

This is also correct - - this rule applies to multiplayer vehicles only.

Not to beat a dead horse, but let me ask again.

I have a Yacht with decorations. I have an empty YT-1300. Before I can go up and fight in my YT, I must first empty the decorations out of the Yacht?

Isn't there a way to flag a ship so I can't place items in it until I empty out the other? ...but still be able to use it?

Thanks,

SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 and the History of the Lady Luck

The luxury yacht itself that will be made available to Galaxy citizens will be the pleasure model that does not have Lando's "special modifications. The ship will be invulnerable to attack, possess no weapon systems, sensor arrays, escape pods, droid brain etc.

TH next beta phase needs some more information like if pre-odering is the only way in?

If you want into beta, you should be registered. As has been said, JtL Ships at the end of October. The Pre-Order Beta Pack is most likely going to be the last phase of beta.

TH, not trying to argue or anything but this is the information on the ebgames site

Note: Participation in the beta is limited—only while supplies last. This offer is only available to purchasers of the official pre-order box (which includes CD with Jump to Lightspeed installer and Access Key sticker). Must be a subscriber in “good standing” of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. Broadband connection is required. Beta period is defined as October 8, 2004, through October 22, 2004. Those trying to enter before or after the defined beta period will not be allowed access.

Is this considered the last phase?

Ok, I have one question. I've been palying since beta three so obviously I will get the yacht. However, will all the characters on my account get the ship? My wife will be real disapointed if her character on Naritus doesn't get one And if she's not happy then I'm usually not happy (translation -- I might loose out on some game time =0).

Hey TH, can we put vendors in ships? I think that would be cool for the bar when I open up my buisness.

Yes, you can put furniture and anything else you could place in a player structure on the ground.

you lost me on this one...let me see if this is correct.

I have the yacht and I have it decorated and I own a imperial shuttle with nothing in it. I can't launch the imperial shuttle as long as the yacht has items in it???

Correct.

Huh?? Why is that? As long as the other ship doesn't have anything in it, it doesn't add to the database to allow us to launch it empty, does it? Couldn't we launch empty and just be prohibited from placing items in the empty ship until the other ship is emptied? Why couldn't he launch his empty Imperial Shuttle, fly around in it, and then if he tried to place an item, get some sort of "You cannot place items in this ship" message?

It would be very cool if this was a button toggle where it would "remember" the placement of your items. That way when you decorate a ship you could "switch" them to the other ship and always have the correct placement of items, making it so we wouldnt have to re-decorate everytime. If this is the case I will only be using my YT-1300 instead of the Yacht.

I promise to work with the team to see if there are any other alternatives here...

Would be Sweet if we could have a ship profile. Like one all decked out and the other empty. We would have to have a container with the items with us or they could be a part of our bank alot.. not sure how that would work..

There are also technical limitations with having more than one multiplayer vehicle decorated at the same time. That won't be possible. I wish it were different, but it can't be. Sorry.

Oh well. I'd hoped that was an easy fix. I guess we'll just have to pick our favorite ship and stick with it for now. Thanks for looking into it and letting us know.

Thanks. I wish I had a better answer, but the technology just isn't there yet (in general). The hard decisions here were driven by technical concerns and development challenges.

This "hard decision" essentially says that because you haven't solved a storage issue that players have been screaming to get fixed since launch only about 1% of players will actually use what is possibly the coolest looking ship in the game and all the time that went into making it unique will be essentially wasted. It doesn't make sence to me how a search engine like google can store every word currently existent on the Internet in a database that can be searched in less than a second to come up with that one obscure keywork I'm looking for but your database can't seem to hold data about a few thousand characters without choking (each server has its own DB, right?).

I'd love to use this ship... I think it would be a lot of fun to take out every now and then, but if I have to choose between a combat craft that will probably be used quite frequently and a luxury part ship that will be used once in a blue moon... well, sorry about the time you wasted.

TH, why does SOE still make this stance. I am a PA leader and have been told that we can't have more items in the PA hall and one of the reasons is the DB needs to be of a reasonable size. I am all for that, but a little creativity is all that is needed to fix this problem. Let me give an example.

Right now, a player can get 10 factories that hold 100 items each. With the 10 lots that are given they can have 1000 items stored. Then there is the bank which is 100 items. Your backpack is 50 and your personal inventory is 60. Plus you can wear up to 10 items or so. That gives a grand total of 1220 items.

Now, take a PA leader with 1 PA hall, 1factory, the bank, your inventory, your backpack and the stuff you equip. That comes to a total of rougly 570 which is less then half of a non PA leader.

Now to bring in JTL. As I don't want to break the NDA, I won't say how many items can be stored in a multi-person ship (but you just mentioned that it can be done above so I am not revealing anything new) but lets say you can store X items. You said there were 3 ships? Then if you were to have 3 fully decked out multiplayer ships, you would increase your item count by 3X (note that you said this cannot be done as you would have to keep two empty). It seems like 3X will be insignificant compared to the wasted space used by a non PA Hall owner listed above.

Now for the creativity. Instead of determining how much can be stored by a player in total by defining the cap on each building, be fair and put a cap on a players total storage (outside of the inventory which should be a separate 60). So lets say we put a item cap at 500 items. Everyone in the game will be even in this. Then a player decides to get a PA hall which can store 450 items (50xnum of lots), a factory that stores 100 items and 2 multiplayer ships with total storage of X each. Now this player fills his PA hall, Now he only has 50 items left. He puts 25 in his bank. This only leaves 25 items for the three multiplayer ships which is not going to create "dead database space".

This is just one way to fix the item storage discrimitation issuecurrently plaguing, and you will be giving equal storage rightsto every player in the game. Some players will have to give up some stuff, but some players will have a huge burden lifted from their shoulders. Everyone can decorate there multiplayer craft and their veteran reward the way they want, and SOE gets to control the DB usage to a fixed amount.
