Build 1 weapon of each class with your vendor wp as the name and place it on the bazaar as a 6000 credit premiere auction. That way when someone browses the subcategories you'll have your vendor wp right there. Can't say if this actually brings in any customers but its cheap.

Here is what I think will affect your sales, in order..
1. Name Recognition (I'm one of the oldest, best smiths on my sever)
2. Location-Location-Location (I have had the same shop south of coronet since July)
3. Quality (I have the best stuff on my server)
4. Price (I am one the the highest priced smiths on my server)
If you have 1-3, most people dont care about 4. Most of my melee weapons are from 17k-35k+ depending on slices, Ranged 20k-50k+ depending on slice w/ the exception of T21's which I start at 200k (yes 200k).
Top slices run up to 100k usually on melee, and last weekend I sold a 200k power hammer 5.1 spd 648 max(after selling a couple with just a tad lower stats within minutes of posting for 100k, so I jacked the price up).
Some people call this gouging, I call it business. At one point I was selling 3.0 spd sliced flamers for 1mil each as fast as I can post, now I cant sell one for 500k. Price goes down until I sell it, easy as that. If things sell out fast, price will go up usually, if they stay on the vendor and I have to repost (I hate reposting), price gets cut. I adjust my prices until I can keep 25-50 of each model in stock for about 4-5 days, my price scheme on VK, PH, Gaffi, Lasers, and Pistols have been approx the same for over 3-4 months.
The main problem here is you cant get 1-3 without tons of time and effort. So, set up a shop at a place you know you will stay at, that has good foot traffic near there already orASK to place your vendor in a mall, or even next to an reputable Armorsmith's vendor. I was the only vendor in my shop until one of my favorite Doctors asked to put a vendor in myshop. Most offers I have had for new vendors in my shop I have accepted (as long as they don't compete with another vendor already placed). So, now I guess you could say I have a "Mall" in my tiny small house, and everyone benefits from the increased traffic.
No wonder there is so much hostility towards big smiths on other servers. I guess I should go up to Tuckiee and give him a big wookie hug for keeping Valcyn's WS's in check. You make Arox look like an undercutter and he is/was the big evil monopoly on Valcyn (I personally think Arox sells stuff too cheap, the previous comment was an opinion of others on our server not me).

I'm a master weaponsmith, and I see some of the pricing information in the forum, and can't help but wonder how things can be sold so high. Are these high prices (30k+ on power hammers, 10k+ on laser weapons, 50k+ on special heavy weapons) only by people in malls? Most of these are 10x more than I charge, but I don't bring in half the business. Anyone have any advice? The only thing I've heard is to build an array of cheap weapons for the bazaar, and monotonously type in a waypoint to my shop on each one of them. That is a little much for me, so any other suggestions?

I guess you're right. I've been a smith for about a month, and I basically bought master weaponsmith (bought enough resources for heavy warhead mechanisms to hit master in under 5 days). I'm a long ways away from having a good resource base (I have 50k or less of the great resources I have, most are under 10k), so maybe I can't handle having more business now anyway. I guess I'll just scrape by until I have enough resources to do factory runs of weapons, and then worry about becoming huge. I should get my name out a descent amount in the meantime as the weapons I do make, I make very well.
Thanks,

Ravage, I'm not quite sure how to take your message. Given your station name is "FreeEnterprise", I think you would understand the laws of supply and demand. If I priced all of my weapons 30k and under, I would sell out in a day, I hardly think 3-4 days of factory runs and slcing hundreds of weapons is worth that. Everyone sets their price to what the market will bear, If I wasn't selling weapons at my price my vendor would always be full and I would have to lower prices. The demand on flamers recently went down, I lowered my priceand sold out the rest of my stock. It is all economics, if I wanted to create a monopoly I could charge 20k max on every weapon and sell even more volume 5x as fast, but that is not worth my effort at this stage of the game. People visitng my vendor expect me to have hundreds of items in stock at all time, and if it was near empty all the timeI would look the fool.
If I took your message the wrong way, forgive me. There are many that despise me because of my prices, but it is the players themselves that set the prices by continuing to buy me out.

It was really in jest.....since we are on different servers I can't really be too concerned with your pricing. Consider it just a funny WS rapport.

10k for a 2200 or higher buff is the standard on my server, Kauri. Course if noone else is buffing you might just have to take what u can get.

You want to take into account not only buff power, but also where you're at exactly. If you're on Yavin IV, i'd charge whatever you can get away with. Competition and scarcity of a needed service or resource sets the price. In Corellag, i'd charge 10k to 12k, if they're 2300+ or better. Or you can even have two price sets, regular and super steroid buffs, if you have the power in them, like Janta blood. The supers i'd charge 15k for. It's been my experience that people will pay whatever they have to before they go out to hunt. They end up making back the money in a few minutes in either loot or mission money anyway, so it's not big deal to them, usually.

it really depends on what cost you can get the raw resources at.
what i do for all but composite is take the raw cost ave of 6 cpu, hides cost me between 10 - 20 cpu.
add up the total cost of raw matl', then i double it to account for time spent making the armor, and factory maint/power usage
basic cost for the armors i do is Ubese 92500 (with bandoleer & shirt), Padded 186k (damm cost of lok and Y4 hides), comp (cheapest suit 235k)

heres what i sell my armor on scylla for
Unlayered Composite: 52% base 100k
63% base 9% Stun 80% Kinetic 300k triple layered
60% base 80% Kinetic 250k double layered
60% base 80%Energy 250ksame as above
i only charge so much because i buy my tailor components, as soon as i make my own ill drop the price on the layered stuff, prolly by 25-50k per suit.
