I was luck enough to get a firespray from a wingmate who didn't like it so he sold it to me. I was jaded at first, I mean all the fett wannabe's and what not but than I thought hmm, why think like that when everyone who is playing Star Wars galaxies is playing because they want to be like somone in the original movies, but i digress....
Bottom line, the Firspray rocks! 215k mass and handles as good as, if not better than, an x-wing, Trust me. Im a Privateer master pilot who has flown with the best of them, rebel and imperial alike. You get your droid programs, your favorite components and take to the starts with that bad boy! There ain't nothing you cant keep up with in the galaxy, period. Great all purpose versatile ship. COUld even keep up with a suped up tie opressor doing the dog fight/spin dance with another imperial PC. And those opressors have tiny profiles and the PC Imp still had trouble keeping me in his sites.
I'm starting to live by a new motto..."Dont hate it before you try it." Than again it may not be for all because my wingmate sold it to me. I think if you are one who likes versatile attack ships/ space superiority fighters than a firespray may do you good. If you get the opportunity to test fly one dont decline. Try that bad boy out.

get an imperial (if you're not one already) to program a droid chip with engine overload.. you'll be able to go as fast as the guy who went 1073 speed claims =)

is the Firespray a 2 person ship?
Nope.
My Firespray has a 107 speed engine in it. My cruise speed with EO3 is 1270, and with boost it's 1549. I corner best at about 900.

I am just curious. How does the Firespray handle as a combat craft in comparison to other fighters ? Is it a whale like the B-Wing or does it glide around better ?
I would be interested in hearing from Firespray pilots on what they think of their spiffy space toy.

It's actually pretty similar to the B-wing from my experience, with less fish tailing.

I find it handles pretty dang well. Better than a Rihkxyrk, definitely, and a friend of mine is having a hard time adapting to his because it's "too sensitive" compared to his X-Wing.

Alright you two get togather and come up with a good average since you both told me complete opposites.
I wonder if by the time I get JTL and make my way up to Master Pilot I will be able to afford to have one made.... hrmm...

I know that by continuity, the ship is supposed to be fast, due to the sheer size of its engines, instead of getting the speed mod it has now, it should get a 1.0.
Anyway, think of the FireSpray as a sidways X-Wing, you'll have a large weapon spread, only vertically instead of horizontally(Like the X-Wing). You can make some quick turns while not slinging the backside outwards, due to the fact you're sitting right on top(or directly in front, depending on how you look at it) of the engines. Since none of you cannons are lined up with your cockpit like all the other singleplayer ships, you'll need to get used to firing with weapons below your PoV.

Many people feel, at first, as though they are flying a B-Wing because of the odd shape of the Firespray. Specificly, the majority of your hull and weaponry is far below you. And until you get the hang of it, it can feel like a brick in space. Numerically, I think it is superior to the X-Wing. But because of the shape and size, the rough estimate is that it falls somewhere between the X-Wing and the Y-Wing as far as maneuverability. It has a great advantage now that it has 220K+ mass, and it has, by far, the best mass/maneuverability ratio in the game. It's low points are the odd gun placement, which you will simply have to adjust for, and the shape of the ship itself, which presents a large oval target if anyone ever drops on your six.

That's a pretty fair assessment I'd say.
I've found that the ship seems around about the same sort of maneuverability as my X-Wing used to be, maybe slightly slower to turn.
The most difficult change from the X-Wing has been the weapon placements - that takes a little getting used to!!
The extra mass makes those two minor blemishs so worth while though - over double the mass of the X-Wing I can happily stock the ship with 2 3500+ max damage blasters, some decent Mark V shields and still have room for Mark IV armour, boosters and a missile loadout to suit what target my group are going after.
All in all I'm totally pleased with my ship and with the new pvp decay in deep space I look forward to taking "Black Fleet 8" (see the chimeara forums for the "stories") into battle this week!
