I say leave it as it is.

Anyone seeking pvp will be in Deep Space. Not Kessen.

I've said this before. No master pilot will want to waste his time pvp'ing in kessen. Theres next to nothing in there apart from the odd spawns here and there, which bands of 4444 pilots will be chasing after ........ no fun.

PVP will be happening in Deep Space. Funnily enough where all the best loot is and all the best content in the game resides IMHO.

And what are you basing this on? No, PVP in JTL will mostly be done in Kessel. No one in their right mind would go to Deep Space for their PVP needs when the cost to enter is 300.000 prestige points each time. Not while Kessel is completely free. And people looking for PVP combat have no need of the best loot either. Oddly enough, I think we'll see Deep Space used more for PVE looting mixed with some sporadic PVP rather than for PVP specifically.

Don't see why people think that just because an area is PVP enabled does not mean that you will have to fight anyone. THERES NO REASON FOR ANYONE TO BE IN THERE APART FROM DOING THE FINAL MISSIONS. Your just as likely to be killed by x amount of npc's there than another player, by the reads of things your all scared witless to go there. So how can any griefing occur if no-one ever goes there? *Tongue in cheek*

There is plenty of reasons, see above. There's no reason to go for Deep Space specificallyfor PVP though.

Can't see anyone being bothered waiting for the odd one or two gutsy people jumping into Kessen in the search for PvP.

There will be a more or less constant stream of people needing to master. Not just one or two gutsy people. More people will need to master as the time goes on.

Looking forward to Mastering pilot soon as. Having to go to Big Scary PVP enabled Kessen is not going to lose me any sleep. And I know that it is going to be the highlight of the week once I have that title. =)

For you it will be, but then again you actually enjoy this playstyle. For someone who hates it, it will be somewhat like having unspeakable things done with a chainsaw to ones privates parts, only virtually. Or something...

Chill, take a deep breath, count to ten and relax

Chill, take a deep breath, count to ten and try to look at this from the opposite perspective for once.

Yeah they should make the jedi grind easier since I'd like to do that if it wasn't so boring. Please cater the game to my particular needs. Why can't we all just be aces? There is no way to make a mission against the AI challenging. No way at all. It wil simply take someone to figure out the right strategy and post it on the web for folks to follow. Oh wait that's what most of the signers want. They want it to be hard for the people who don't look stuff up on the web. Keep crying folks, devs are like bad parents and will generally give in to the whiney children eventually. More power to yas.. WAAAAA WAAAAAA. Stamp your feet and hold your breath that might make em cave in faster.

I thought I'd share my experiences in Kessel with you guys.

Yesterday, I and a number of other people spent 12 hours in Kessel. We were working on the Corvette master mission and ended up doing 5 times before we finally managed to destroy the thing before it hypers out of the system.

Anyways, while in there, we were very careful to constantly scan our surroundings looking for targettable ships. As soon as we found one, we contacted them and informed them that our intentions were not to PvP but to destroy the Corvette. Every person and group we ran into was also in Kessel to complete their missions and no one wanted to be bothered, so our groups would declare truce over the comms with each other. By the end of the night we had a standing truce between just about every group we ran into in Kessel.

See, while Kessel is a griefers paradise, most of the imps, rebs, neutrals in there are not in it to PvP. They're in it to finish the 2 Kessel missions are to help friends finish the 2 Kessel missions. Some people I ran into were just there to sight see!

Many of the people will even thank you for asking to declare truce because they've had to redo their missions because of occasional runins with PvPers and griefers (the first Kessel mission *will* fail if you die).

Out of 12 hours in Kessel, my group ran into griefers one time. Here I say "greifers" instead of "PvPers" because these people were not looking for clean PvP fun. They were hiding under the Corvette waiting for us to get there. When we engaged the Vette and it's fighter escort, that's when they came out and destroyed us. We didn't even see them coming with all the red dots all over the screen.

After that, we returned to the vette, I promptly destroyed all the griefers (apparently these guys don't fight so well when you know they're there) and continued working on the Vette mission which we promptly failed (it was our 4th attempt at it).

Aside from that one run in with a bunch of losers, our stay in Kessel was very trouble free thanks to good communication and a general willingness of people to work together or at least to avoid conflict.

What's funny, is that in our final Covette strike (try number 5), 3 of our 8 grouped players were attackable neutral "enemy" players (even grouped) that we meet in Kessel through our peace communications.

I, personally, don't think that I'll be returning to Kessel any time soon unless I'm helping someone in there. It's hard enough to do Kessel as it is without the PvP and I don't even want the players there to even have to worry when they see me - they have enough on their minds already.

I'll probably be doing most of my PvP'ing in Deepspace because it's not required for any missions.

I would prefer the option of doing it or getting 7.5mil exp. This would leave the challenge for those who want it.

The meaning of victory is not to defeat your enemy but to
destroy him, to eradicate him from living memory, to leave
no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his every
achievement and remove from all record his every trace of
existence. From that no enemy can ever recover.
That is the meaning of victory.

I was griefed last nbight by a group that was killing everything at the zone in to Kessel.

I asked them to let us in for the mission, that we were not there for PvP, they refused.

I sent a harrassment ticket in and was told by a CSR that camping the zone in was not considered griefing.

So I am stuck unable to do my mission.

Mind you I am not saying that these are better pilots than me that are besting me in a fair fight...these guys are ganging up 8:1 at the zone in, before you even get a chance to get your bearings.

My entire guild is aggravated about this situation, to the point of looking for another MMO to play together. I know htat is extreme but this is the latest in a long line of disappointments with SOE design team.

I am sorry to say that after being here since beta 3 for Empire Divided, I can see the cancellation of my account in the near future.

This sounds like a huge pain in the a$$. I'm 3,2,2,2 so I have a ways to go still but when I'm ready for the master mission, I don't want to have my progress halted by players that have already gained master and are just making things hard for me.
