no way to tell.... just make a guess and type this in the window;
/alarmAddIn 3 0 BUFFS END IN 5 MINUTES
This sets an alarm to 3 hours and 0 minutes... given your buff end in 3 hours and 10 minutes. First number is hour slot and second number is minute slot. There is no second slot that I know of.

Yep I just check the clock if it happens. No way to get the timers back other than a rebuff.

Sampling is killing me. I've finished all the crafting skills and I'm only at sampling I and that was booooring as hell. I mostly just sampled gnorts and such and it took forever to do. I don't know if I can take it having to get another 160K xp. Does anyone have any advice for me? What is the best to sample? What yields the best ammount of xp?

Hay bud it took me 2 days to do all the dna line. dont bother getting buffed its a waste of money. Go to dant and get the lesser bol missions like 3k payout. you will get 126xp per bol, once you hit dna 1 mix in some huurtons / quenkers / pickets depending on how intersting you like your game time
i had many of incaps cuase stupid me was trying to sample slinking voritor hunters at dna 2 lol {gave up after 5 deaths}. Anyhow once you get dna 2 do pickets quenkers huurtons savage quenkers etc. at dna 3 id suggest strongly about going to endar and do anglar webmasters warriors drones and everthing else 556xp per webmaster makes that 80k go fast
I did all this unbuffed and the no attack peace thingy will save you many deathblows so use it and dont forget to have fun

For box III and IV, I did Pikets on Dantooine and Gurks on Lok. You can get missions for both and they don't deathblow. In addition, you can milk them while you sample.

For spices, I would grind Shadowpaw. You will need 15 metal and 15 meat for each one. Not sure about the total but those 2 resources have got to be the easiest to get in the game. You can grind the spice tree in a long night of playing. Maybe a few hours for that.
You can do slicing in a couple of hours if you have enough containers to get through the whole tree (rather unlikely). But you can definitely do it in a night if you have containers to get through slicing II. If you only have enough to get through slicing I, you will spend 2-3 hrs at a term slicing once every 90 seconds.

Actually, Shadowpaw is five units of Metal, twenty five units of Organic.
Each dose of Shadowpaw is worth 120 experience points, below is a detailed grind of Spices.
Spices I: 8000 experience needed, bare minimum of resources needed is 1675 organic, 335 metal
Craft 67 units of Shadowpaw, this will give you 8040 xp.
Spices II: 12000 experience needed, bare minimum of resources needed is 2500 organic, 500 metal.
Craft 100 units of Shadowpaw, this will give you 12000 xp, your total will now be 12040 xp
Spices III: 16000 experience needed, bare minimum of resources needed is 3325 organic, 665 metal
Craft 100 units of Shadowpaw, this will give you 15960 xp, your total will now be exactly 16000 xp
Spices IV: 20000 experience needed, bare minium of resources needed is 4175 organic, 835 metal
Craft 167 units of Shadowpaw, this will give you 20040 xp, your total will now be 20040.
Now remember, the bare minimum is assuming you never have a critical failure throughout the entire grind. I'd suggest getting enough resources to craft five to six more than needed for each tier of Spices.
For slicing, here's the breakdown.
Slicing I: 5000 experience needed, can only slice Locked Containers(250 xp each)
Twenty Locked Containers, twenty Molecular Clamps(to guarantee success, as long as you read the dialogue in the popup), four Precision Laser Knives.
Slicing II: 10000 experience needed, can only slice Locked Containers(250 xp) and Terminals(100 xp)
Fourty Locked containers, fourty Molecular clamps, and eight Precision Laser Knives is the quickest route.
100 terminal slices will take longer, but you always have access to terminals. 100 Clamps, twenty Knives. Keep in mind, there's a two minute delay between slicing attempts on terminals.
Note: In factional bases that can be converted, and player bases that can be destroyed, there is a terminal that a smuggler who's gotten Slicing I can slice for 1000 xp each time. If you take this route, it'll only take ten slices, but, you'll have to be Overt, and risk getting killed in the process. Ten clamps, and two Precision Laser Knives.
Slicing III: 25000 Experience needed, can only slice, Locked Containers, Terminals, and now Weapons(250 xp)
Easiest route is to get one hundred survival knives, one hundred Clamps, One hundred WUKs(Weapon Upgrade Kits), twenty Precision Laser Knives, and start slicing them.
Two hundred-fifty terminal slices will work, needing 250 Clamps, and fifty Precision Laser Knives.
Slicing IV: 50000 Experience needed, you can now slice all slicable items, containers, terminals, weapons, and armor pieces(250 xp), since you have picked up Slicing III
Easiest route is still slicing weapons, Survival Knives again(very cheap to make/get), two hundred of them now, two hundred Clamps, two hundred WUKs and fourty Precision Laser Knives.
Five hundred terminal slices can do the job, needing 500 Clamps, and 100 Precision Laser Knives.
Hope that helps, and that noone finished a cheet sheet before I finished typing this.
