287. We know that zones will be implemented in JTL space, but will zone control be implemented? Can we "take" an area for the Rebellion? or lose it?

288. Will retrofitting starships, primarilly fighter size, have a limit due to certain factors beyond simple monetary investment? Ie will my A-wing be able to get 3 or 4 modifications to tweak speed and power meanwhile a Y-wing can have 5-6, and a YT 10 due to craft size and amount of power the core can provide.

298. I am a neutral character and my guild has members of both factions. I have enough faction points on both sides to join either side when needed. This way I'm able to go on missions that are faction based, like the corvette.
My question is: If I continue to go up the neutral pilot profession and I want to change faction for a mission, will I have to give up all my xp for my pilot and start over when I go back to neutral?

Jason, not sure if these were answered, but, add this to the list.


Also, where can we find the answers?


Questions:



Can crafters craft at a space port/station in space? When JTL releases, im going to master Shipwright right away, and i dont want to have to go to a planet just to craft, i want to basically live in space.


Can we log in space? Do we have to go to a space station for it?


What happens when we die in space?


How do we gain xp when piloting a ship? By killing people?


When someones ship is destroyed/disabled, how do they get back to a planet? Who does the repairs for it? Shipwrights?


Will a profession for Pilot really matter much?Will they have specials that require juice from the power?


How will the micro management work, cuz they said you'll need a droid to change the settings; aka, throttle, weapons, shields, speed.


Back to gaining skills in Pilot Profession, will there be modifiers? If so, how will they work out?


Will there be an Elite Pilot profession? Aka, you mastered Pilot, you get app points, you may now start getting xp for Novice -Profession here-

Will heavily modified ships run into operational problems, malfunctions, etc?

Howdo they devs see non-combatant/Logistic/Transport/Smuggler missionsand larger player controlled frieghters fitting into JTL?


How do they justify a JTL without these aspects, or it being combat only?

I've got to agree with folks like Natty ... the space expansion should be more than just combat. You're going to have players who choose to be non-combatant space merchants. Someone may enjoy running a YT-1300 back and forth between planets just for the interaction. These players should be able to take missions outside of space PvP, for instance;cataloging nebulae composition, recovery operations of lost spacecraft, star charting missions (i.e. space survey), mining of different resources in space (have DEs craft a asteriod mining droid that could be launched from certain ships), etc.


This would open up totally new aspects of JTL. I'm sure things like this are coming in the future, however a small bite of this type of content at launch might bring even more players on board with the expansion.

I totally agree man...however, if we have found anything out by now its this: The Dev's need to take things in small steps and not over promise or things get screwy and people get mad.


I think they are taking a good step by getting us into space and letting us kill each other Soon we will have merchant features and capitol ship battles and even space mining (hopefully) Just gotta be patient again heh.

Shipwrights will userecources that arecurrently in the game, so yeah, stock up all you can if you gonna be a shipwright.

Not without reason, only if you take dmg by enemy fire and maybe even from nebula'sthat havestrange effects on your ship...

Crafter's can do about anything on a Y-1300, including crafting.

You can always /quit at anytime, when your characters leaves the world after being LD for some time your character should pop on the ground or maybe at a space station.

XP is gained by doing missions from a NPC from your faction.

You die when your ship is destroyed, so you will end up at the cloner with your ship stored in your datapad. You can repair your ship at space station like you would repair your vehicle at a garage.



Will a profession for Pilot really matter much?Will they have specials that require juice from the power?


The higher your lvl is the more options you will have to controll your ship, redirecting your power from engines to shields is one of those skills you aquire. No specials require power that we know of right now.



How will the micro management work, cuz they said you'll need a droid to change the settings; aka, throttle, weapons, shields, speed.


You just asign those options to shortcut buttons, the only thing the droid does is make it possible for you to do so.



Back to gaining skills in Pilot Profession, will there be modifiers? If so, how will they work out?


No modifiers as we know on the ground, if you want to dodge an attack you have to make some evasive moves with your joystick.

No, there will be only one tree for each faction.

Can you be a jedi and a pilot? cause if you look at Vader and Luke, they are both jedi's and both of them fly. It would only be fair to do this plus that everyone will want to fly and to be limited not being able to fly just because your a jedi and cant really do the non-jedi proffesions. it would just suck
