I've gotten all the way to NBH xx21 and pistoleer xxxx and i found out that I think fencer is the best job for me. If I were to surrender all my skills, would I get the same amount of skill points back as I put in them? I hate the idea that in the end I actually have less.
And do jedi and FS need skill points to gain skills boxes?

I hate fencer, even though I'm probably gonna go in it.
Fencer, tkm, swordsman, and pikeman should all be removed for continuity reasons. And the pvp world of swg will all be well and good.

Skillpoints are required to buy any and all skillboxes, including Force Sensitive (1 skillpoint each) and Jedi abilities (varies).

Tusken Raiders were fencers, they did use gaffi sticks.
Jango Fett had some TK skills, as do most Jedi. Han Solo also had TK skills (dirty fighting)
Many scenes in ROTJ showed Jabba's thugs weilding vibro-axes, also General Grievous' bodyguards weild lance like weapons that can deactivate a lightsaber.
As for Swordsmen, well if your going to have all of those above melee weapons then you might as well include swords.

from what Ive read Darth Maul was a TK Master and it does make sense if you watch how he fights compared to normal jedi

Hmph...that's a bummer...
Do the skills like +15 dodge for fencer, still help you out if your jedi?
It's not a bummer, if Jedi had no skill point cost they would be waaaaay too overpowered. A totally mastered Jedi with elite combat profs? No good. And also the Jedi have different mod skills, and eventually you'll have to drop all your other profs.

Ok another question: Can non fs skills still be used to help a jedi char?
like does +15 dodge, earned from Fencer help a jedi out still?
