been suggested before, so you know. lots of times. that, of course, doesn't mean that your idea wasn't unique to you, but I've run out of fingers and toes to count the number of times that this is suggested. I'm gonna start counting hair folicles soon.
Basically, they have NOTHING in common except a little bit of scout. But then again, that's like saying that BH and rifleman are basically the same thing since they share one common pre-req, so we should merge them.
Rangers are outdoorsman, hunters, recon experts. Creature Handlers are lion tamers. No offense to CHs, of course. It's not the way I play, but i respect your choice. But explain to me how training pets and learning how to track a person down are related in the real world.
Ranger should not be merged with anything, EVER. It is a stand-alone profession and we don't need other professions trying to merge our skills into theirs all the time. Thanks, I'll keep my skills, CHs can keep theirs, BHs can keep theirs and SLs can keep theirs. You want the skills, spend the skillpoints.
As Eskie said, your server trade or galaxy board would be the place to look. BE's don't make clothes, Tailors do. And cloaks can't have mods.

While Jedi cloaks can't have mods, jedi can (and do) wear other clothes. Tissue requests from jedi have been formelee/ranged defense, healing efficiency, and unarmed damaged/terrain negotiation.
Not too many people realize that the healing efficiency helps a tad with the Instan-Stims.

CHs tame, I kill and harvest. They name them and teach them tricks - I rip off their skin and sell it.
We are the antithesis of the creature handlers and should remain so. I want to be able to trap pets in PvP for balance. The more pets I can kill, the better I will feel, as it will give me a role in PvP.

for the record, I have 3 cats who run the house I live in. I really like animals of all shapes and sizes, excepting swallows.
