I wouldn't, to be halfway effective, you have to spend a fortune on weapons.

My Template is Master Commando, Master Smuggler, Combat Medic 4000
I think Commando has3 very usefull skills (Especially in this template):
1) Area attacks.
Even though they are not working as intended in terms of damage the state effects stick. So as the posts above say. Using a flamer with concussion shot roots a bunch of people for 40 secs. very usefull in group PvP.
2) The flamer does some real nice damage. My topwas 5500 damage (was a 1 hit 3600 net damage incap!) using the flamer with "Last Ditch" when i was nearly dead versus a full healed Rifleman (3300 health = one shot incap!).
3) Rocket Launchers! I do not know if they work as intended but a Rocket Launcher doesn't use any ammo, has a reach of 64 meters and, most of all, come with KNOCKDOWN ATTACK. So even when using the basic shot it will knockdown the target in 99% of your hits (after knockdown there is some 40 secs knockdown resist on the target so you cannot repeat to often. But in mass PvP that means what you cannot root you can knockdown with your launcher. Refresh timer and SAC on the standard attack are rather low so you can do that all day long.
I do not use grenades since their timer and damage is crap. Only ones i sometimes use areImperial detonators with a huge blast radius and AREA KNOCKDOWN!
In a 1 vs 1 PvP i doubt i would stand a chance versus a rifleman cause commando weapons have to short range for that. In mass PvP you are Mr. Crowd Control and pin all the targets to be taken out by the Riflers or Melees.
If they some day manage to fix the AoE attacks Commando will rock even more!

In group PVP i just use the Rocket Launcher to go down the line knocking people down and if they start to get close to me i switch to the lighting gun and doCrippling shotfrom carbineer followed by a Charge Shot to Knockdown anyone that can be knocked down. Its really pretty fun. Did some last night and my PVP rating jumped about 200 points and i was on the losing side

Thanks, Giacomo. Good advice. Will try that.
I'm a new Commando. Master Carbineer at the present and tried several different professions to go along with it but Commando really thrills me. I just love flames. I know Commando is borked but, heck, even borked it is fun.
Plan on Master Carb, Master Commando and BH 0400.( I think I have enough sp's.)

heh, all these are good suggestions.
My gripe with commando is that in the biggest PvP on Valcyn, you are dead with commando before you can get in range. Lastr time I went to freedom, there were 50 people duking it out, there were 2 lines, the 60m space between the wo groups was a dead zone that not even master defender jedi could cross.

For long range just carry different guns, you don't need to be a rifleman to carry an Advanced Laser Rifle.

Is there a guide for how to PvP with CM? If there is can I get a link, if not can I get some pointers. Food, drinks, what specials you use at what points in the fight, any tricks on how you keep your mind up enough for heals but get all your specials to stick, do you stand toe to toe or run and let the DOTs do a little work, what specials do you have on your primary toolbar, etc.
My template is: Master Rifles, Master Combat Medic, BH 3010. So most of my fighting will be against jedi 1 on 1 and my melee defence isn't very high.
PS. If any of you are on Chilastra can you get me a wp to a good BE for enhancers, thanks.

That's not something you can make a guide for. There is a million different ways and scenario's to account for. The best thing I can suggest is read the post-cu template thread in the stickies. I lot of people have posted what they have and how the use it. You can get a lot of ideas in there.

So I just started PVPing on a regular basis and am kicking butt! I am MCM MRifle Pistol 0404, Ihave beenbeating everyone bye laying down traumitize and basicly just healing until they run out of mind then fire away! Are there any professions that I need to worry about with this template? Also what are some of your stratagies to fighting with MCM, against ranged, melee, and of course jedi?
I would love some input. thanks

Jedi Master Lightsaber/Master Powers w/ some healing.... choke and the lightsaber damage will hit hard
Combat Profession/MDoc.... heal better than you and can negate your dots and your debuffs to an extent
TKM/MCM or TKM/MDoc.... they can heal well plus because your speed is slow a MCM can slow you down quickly
On that statement, MCM/Combat Profession.... heal as well as you and knows your tactics
Anyone who is really good at PvP.... If someone knows his/her template, no matter what the template is, they are dangerous
Major issue is don't be concerned about what templates are easy to beat and which are difficult.... because of the CU, all templates are dangerous in the right person's hands. Just be versatile and adapt quickly to the situation at hand.
