azahi advanced stim Bs sell at 1k a pop...
i make plenty of money selling meds...
I'm not rich, but I usually don't need to scrounge credits up for travel tickets either. I'm just a doctor with 2 boxes to go for master doctor. I make money in basically two ways:
1) Selling resources - Usually I just sell extra med supplies that I won't use. Sometimes, however I luck out and find a rare resource for another profession. For instance, a couple of weeks ago I found an area of titanitum aluminum within 600m of my house. That metal hadn't been on my server since the first week of release. I put a couple ofharvesters on it and sold what I mined to a weaponsmith for a nice amount of cash.
2) Selling StimBs / other meds - I'll make batches of meds and sell them on the bazaar or through a friend with a merchant. Like Zarlor, I don't really like making factory crates with all of the bugs and babysitting you have to do. I can sell a good number of experiment Stim Bs, experiment Stim Cs and even Rez packs to support my weapon collection habit, travel expenses, entertainer tips, etc.
I could certainly make a lot more money if I went full-time at either of those. However, I like to play the game too
So, I just do what gets me a comfortable amount of cash.
Yeah, I guess I wasn't clear enough there. 1100 each means per stim. A crate holds 5 stims and I probalby sell 2-4 crates a week (or I should sayI MAKE that many, as I could esaily sell more if I made more, demand appears to be that high.) So, 110,000-220,000 creds per week. And I usually go through a good chunk of that, if not all of it, in a week.
Before I got to the point where I was selling stims (and that was mostly before folks started realizing the usefulness of them!) I relied very heavily on friends. Folks gave me a LOT of money in the first month or two of this game, that's for sure, especially since factory runs for Bs before this last Patch was exceptionally difficult and far too time consuming for me.
At any rate, Heck NO I don't get by on 4,400 creds a week! ![]()
So I'm assuming that the key is being a doc. I'm not so I guess that I can't expect to make the same money... One question i do have is where are yall putting your experimentation points on your components. Up until now I have pretty much dumped everyone in effectiveness on every component. Sometimes if i get an amazing and a great i might have an extra point for charges but that is rare at best. Can/will any of y'all share your... recipes for lack of a better term for how you exp on your comps? I know resources fluctuate so I'm not asking what you use to craft with, but rather which areas you exp on with each given component...
Guess I have to start looking at dropping some stuff for doc...
Thanks,

Experiment for power/effectiveness on everything except the BEC for me. BECS you experiment on charges first and left over go for charges.

Master CM can solo ANY (including Dark Jedi) destroy missions.
My favorite is Pickets on Dantooine (they do not aggro, give herb meat and 20k a pop).
Strategy for Pickets:
1) Buy a pet with 1000+ hps from any CH (I bought some horse-looking Fluffy with 2000hps, but I saw better ones).
2) Tell your pet to attack a picket.
3) Throw AOE health poison on all the pickets surrounding him AFTER picket took dmg.
4) Take a pot shot (500 dmg should do it) at picket.
5) Retreat 120m
6) Heal your pet to full
7) Repeat till all pickets are dead.
8) Tell your pet to attack lair.
9) Repeat steps 3-7
10) Destroy empty lair
It takes me about 15 min per 2 layers (don't forget to unequip your weapons and take 2 missions in the same direction). at 20k each - that's ~160k, in one hour I can make enough money to buy resorces for a week and never bother with Artisian again.
As a master doctor you can also make a lot of money selling buffs. People who know what enhancements can do will paybig coin. I have a lot of customers paying 3k to get 6 stats buffed since they can do their high paying missions so much faster with much less downtime.
Essentially with just 6 enhancement packs (25 charges each) you could easilymake 75k sitting in the medical center for an hour.
Of course, after that, you have to deal with the constant tells of "Can I have a sow please.... err buff".
As mentioned, component experimentation is all for power, except for BECs where you go for charges.
Final compile depends on your school of thought. Personally I like, for high end Bs, to aim for power. Anything over 350 in a power number is impressive to folks and they are willing to pay a premium price for that. For anything lower in power I'd consider aiming for charges. The lower power stims are more frequently available and folks will notice they get more bang for their buck by buying a stim that has more charges in it at the lower price levels.
That's my take on it. It's up to you which tact you prefer.
As for having to be a Doc to do it, not necessarily. There are niche markets out there. The lower-end and, to some extent, the mid-level B market seems to be less tapped than the high-end market is. So there is definitely a market for selling Bs in the, say 600-1000 price range. Selling in crates obviously will let you net that profit in one lump sum. Don;t sell crates for less than you would the individual stims, if you ask me though, because it actually costs you more in the log run to do factory runs and cratesare FAR too convenient for the customer to esaisly offset an ill-feelings that some schmoe who doesn't understand the system might have in thinking they shoudl get a "volume discount". A concept that works when packaging costs can be reduced by bulk orders that does not apply to how things are made in SWG.
You might consider catering to other medics with basic components (or even whatever good stuff you can make in the way of CM components), especially crated ones, Stim As to a smaller extent, or even Wound packs. Just keep in mind that many other medics usually aren't very well off either, so your profit margin will probably be pretty small selling to the medic market.
There's also, as mentioned above, the resource sales market or possibly missons. Obviously you won't be making money in your chosen profession that way, but it is a way to get money.
And you can make some money on buffs once folks get acquainted enough with them, but generally the Master Doc market is simply way too hard to compete with on that front. Most MDs seem to be selling buffs for around 1k per stat buffed for their level of buffs. Anything less than a D buff will, no doubt, have to sell for considerabley less to make a profit.
For comparison I would say that on average 1k per stat probably averages out for most MDs to around .75cr/point buffed (darned cheap, if you ask me, I'd rather charge 1cr/point, especially on the Advanced planets considering how much those guys make on missions there.) So a C set might be better off charging .5/point, or say 2-300 credits per buff. Not a big profit margin there, but it's something.
Wondering if there are any non weapon handheld items for those who make a character they do not want to be a combatant.
For me I have my non combatant character who I plan on being master Doctor master tailor eventually. was wondering if there are any handheld items for us, like clipboards or reflex hammers. I havn't seen any and i'm pretty sure there aren't and if that is the case my question is why not? Lets get some items, even if they have no stats (although stats would be nice)
I like to roleplay, especially with my doc and I just think that a doctor running around with a pistol makes much sense.
