Thread: Good or Bad news.
I'm curious with all this talk do you have portfolio that matches your tongue.
May I ask what school you attend this might explain alot about your disfunction, and have you graduated from the program you're currently in?
Get over yourself SWG is owned by Lucasfilm Entertainment Company Ltd. hence this is posted at the bottom of the www.starwarsgalaxies.com website, and if you want further proof click on Legal & Copyright Notice:

By the way just scan through the other games and compare. Oh I don't see SOE mentioned in Star Wars Galaxies... darn.
The why is SOE a part of this, what function do they serve. On SOEs website they claim they developed the game, so the game system is theres, End of story. You want Jedi out, go play another game like bounthy hunter, the rumor has no basis, no SOE no SWG, period LA doesnt own the game system, the servers, the Devs, the CSRs none of it.
Slarus wrote:The problem is the losing accounts on both sides is speculation, nothing more. The only folks you hear from are those that complain. Most complaints about Jedi invovle a known issue, an unfair issue or we hate Jedi.Star Wars and Jedi are one, it isnt Star Wars without Jedi, and most products Sta Wars releated deal witht he Jedi in some way. To have an MMORPG Star Wars based without Jedi doesnt make sense. A few will be happy, a few will be upset, but the fact is that when they introduced Jedi subscribtions went up, they went up. The Village quests are extremely popular, so Jedi are in fact popular and wanted. The huge amounts of debates, this made up rumor in a desprate attempt to scare Jedi only. The posters here are either powergamers or complainers and that is a small portion of the total subscribtion rate. Now ownership aside (SOE owns the game system, game companies this big dont sell off thier intellectual property) is SOE owns the code or not they do own the servers, so if Lucas takes over...excuse me we'll go by the genius above retains full control. Lucas LAID OFF people, even before that fact they do not have the resources to run this game, so screw who owns the code even f Lucas can retain the code, they cannot produce the game so it doesnt matter who owns it all, Lucas can't go it alone smoothly, we can also question who owns character data (SOE of course but the genius will say SOE does nothing) so SWG is on hold for 6 months to a year while Lucas builds an infrastructure to run this game.So its either 3-5 years if SOE owns the code or 1-2 years if Lucas owns it that SWG is shutdown and all our characters, no clue how that will work. Plus this rumor assumes Lucas will make it right, well folks complain about epi 1-3 and the redos of 4-6 and that is George directly, so if he cant please these guys who can?People will complain, people will start rumors. If you dont like the game, dont play if you do play let folks know how you feel without propigating rumors.Crispy101 who started this thread has even said in a part 2 of this thread that this is most likely a rumor.CORAX is highly motivated to support this thread, I cant prove it but CORAX at least believes the rumor, by making SOE a scape goat reducing thier role to janitor, yet to be blamed for all the problems. It makes you wonder why?Play have fun if anything happens it happens, but with a new expansion releasing, and work continuing on a next expansion and the recent layoffs at Lucas Arts, the signs point rather clearly that SOE will stay in whatever capacity CORAX decides they have for the moment.
Not only that, but anything SOE does put in has to be okayed thorugh LA, so if George is unhappy it's is own fault.
- The XvT series.
- Rogue Squadron series(I believe you played as Luke, but you weren't on the ground weilding a lightsaber, so that dosen't count)
- JTL!! (No force powers in space)
The newer games.
- Battlefront (There are Jedi heroes, but none of them could be player controlled)
- Republic Commando (Set during the time of the Clone Wars, so there may be Jedi, but again, I doubt they will be player controlled)
Don't get me wrong, I love playing the other LucasArts title that include Jedi. I am anxiously awaiting KOTOR 2. But, the above is proof that there are good Star Wars games without PC Jedi in them.
(to help keep the thread on topic...)
I, for one, am looking forward to JTL, despite reviews to the contrary. At least there will be some sense of balance in space.

Yup there's alot of Star Wars titles. What's the releveance of this dispelling the of rumor of theimpending divorcebetween LucasArts and SOE?
Slarus wrote:Actually, the game was played without Jedi for months ... and it was a more balanced, enjoyable game, simple as that. I'm not an advocate of removing Jedi entirely (I know very few people who are), I'm an advocate of a sensible Jedi system that fits into the rest of the game, which we've never been close to having. You opinion.I love the game (my opinion), I'd make some changes, but so far for one year it is pretty good. If the Devs and the money people read too much into your opinion and those like you, MMORPGs would have died years ago. They realize that this is a vocal extreme minority, so they continue to expand and evolve the industry.
That's right, it's an opinion ... but when you see a server like Tarquinas that used to be well populated, and now has exactly *one* city with any activity (Coronet) while Theed, which used to be pretty busy, is home to tumbleweeds and chirping crickets, I think that the 'money men' are getting a very clear message. People are voting with their feet.
This game will see a short-lived population bump when JtoL goes live, and then, unless there is a bigger shift in management focus than we've ever seen in SWG, the population with plummet when WoW, EQII and others come out.
