Mostly? Well if you ever pvp's it would go like this.

Dizzy, KD, and you are dead. No way for you to heal states.

As you can tell by my posts, I'm more of a lurker than a poster, and I don't read every single post on every board.

It seems to me that some people are divided over the upcoming removal of the TEF system.

Yes, BH's will conspire with each other to get one particular jedi's mission. They will probably even recruit opposing faction Knights when going after other Knights.

What I've really never understood is why are padawan's even hunted? How many BH's did you see in Ep.1 and2 running around the jedi academy shotting those lil' kids? The Jedi that fought on Geonosis were all Knights. They did not bring their padawan learners along with them. Sure, even a few of them died, but in a massive pvp event such as the Genonsis battle in the execution arena you'd expect that. They're only humanoid.

I never saw Darth Maul go after Obi-Wan directly. He went after the Master or the Knight as you would put it. So why are padawans persecuted to no end?

I'm not saying this because I'm whining that my padawan keeps getting killed by BH. My Jedi is already DJK.

Another question crosses my mind as I ponder all this. Have the Devs ever entertained the thought of Master/Padawan relationship? I've seen a few posts asking about this, but have never seen an answer that says the Devs have even said they'd entertain the idea.

One thought I has was for non entertainers to be able to purchase a basica dance step. I think if there could be more dancing between the dancers and the patrons, it would make the cantina a lot more interesting. I imagine a lot of full dance cards too.

I think this would destroy the profession. No connection to any other game mechanic or interdepency but you still have to grind all that XP would mean few if any would level. Also with no interdependency on our class we would become totally forgotten by the devs.

I think if they did that they would have to call their exciting new playstyle a failure as an experiment. As noted above I don't believe we would get ANY dev time. And I believe it would certainly be the death blow to many players that are entertainers. Sure there are some that would pick up dance or music just for those times when they have nothing better to do. Or are at a party of some sort. But over all it would be a very bad thing for us.

(psst... I think the devs might try and do this anyways...)

*edit*
I've been sick for the last week with a fever and trouble breathing and all around nasty crappy feeling. The meds and what not have made some of my thoughts not quite as readable as I think they are.

Yeah, I think it might happen. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I think it would be great for parties and I'd prolly spend as much time Dancing as I do now and always have. I mean, I dance emote non-stop in games w/o a Dancer Prof and I love parties and Social events, so I don't see that changing for me. It would be nice to be able to have a full Doc/Combat template or something else functional I would enjoy to support my freebie Dancer ways.

On the other hand, there's still a lot I want to see done for the Ent Profs. Will it happen if we are zero SP cost? I'm not sure.

And here is the thought though... Even if they don't go and make us into 0sp professions. Reducing our connection to this game over all. And giving us mechanics that aren't needed, but are just a "fun" and "entertaining" thing. Well that will just do the same thing.(except then the SP cost would make anyone thinking of picking up the professions to not do it.)

Jeez, it sounds depressing the way you talk about it, lol. When I think of changing us to fun and nice, I mean that we should be Money Makers and have city/cantina gameplay content that is just as compelling as outdoor or space.

There are plenty of game concepts that can be used that have nothing to do with combat and killing. Toontown has a whole MMO with no killing... and it's as addictive as the most bloody shoot'em ups! TSO had tons of great gameplay, it just felt a little hollow in such a static world (couldn't "walk down the street", couldn't "go shoot stuff", couldn't "go craft", or "PvP"... SWG is a world that lives and breathes, we could have that type of gameplay here with out suffocating).

I think we could be given "perks" so that we "stack" with combat. Nothing that directly aids us in Combat like a skill, but maybe stat bonuses or bonuses to dodge type of mods. This would make the bridge to Combat self serving, so the focus would be on Ent instead of Combat... but Combat players would still be encouraged to train up Ent skills and come join the Cantina/City fun.

Maybe Combat should serve our playstyle. Maybe we shouldn't be serving combat at all, just inviting them to the party with bribes in the way of perks.

I, personally, could not be more against this than I am.

Entertainer is a new revolutionary play style. Making it equally available to absolutely anyone is not the answer to our issues, I think.

Please do not give up on the idea of a Social play style that is interconnected via game mechanics to other playstyles.

I will of course gather the feedback of the community as is my duty.

Sart means it, he hates this plan... a lot.

BTW, the last reply of mine had nothing to do with Skill Points. I was talking about the "fun but not functional" plan. That plan still uses the same skill points though. In fact, it's much closer to our original design the Devs had for us and should be a full fledged playstyle in its own right.

Only the tactic of the bridge to the greater game changes with that plan. The bridge was never meant to be our main purpose though. It was only a vehicle.
