Thread: PVP
1) Buy New Armor -- You're a Combat Medic, you can wear Battle Armor. Get a good suit of it, since it'll give MUCH better than 3k energy resist. If you're strapped for cash, get the "free" Clone Armor by talking to Mort in the Dearic cantina.
2) Alternate Attacks -- Don't just use one attack like Advanced Crit. Use a macro (or mash the buttons yourself) that alternates Adv. Crit, Torso Shot, etc. These attacks have different timers, so what limits you is the speed of the weapon. Due to the low SAC on the Proton Carbine, you're pretty safe in terms of running out of action.
3) Paralyze -- If it looks like your health is low, paralyze the guy and heal up.
What exactly do you do when you start a fight?

i think this is 1 of your main problems, just smashing buttons in random order could be as much as hitting the sit key, then the prone key and after that the stand key, 3 random buttons smashed and your dead.
I would suggest you figure out what your specials are and how to use them in the right sequence. Put them in the correct order in your toolbars and do alot of praccy in pvp.

how do i make a macro or better where can i find info on how to make one i tryed alsorts of skills in different order but nothing works i still die to dam fast the longest i last is about 10 secs
jedi cuts it down to 5 secs i have been practiceing the only way i know how go overt but i get a whooping every time
Sounds like a macro won't help you.
I don't say this to be rude, but it really sounds like you have no idea how combat works at all. I could be wrong of course, and I don't mean to judge. But from the little information you have given us, it really sounds like you need to stick to PvE for a little while and really figure out what are your best specials.
Get some better armor that suits you, and find a really good weapon.
Have the "combat" tab open at all times, take a look at what damage you are making with different specials. Also pay attention to your warmup with each shot, try to figure out which specials you can pop off quickly. It's all about working out combinations that will allow you to deal as much damage as possible per second. Randomly hitting keys won't help at all.
Despite what some people say, this isn't a dumb game. You have to be smart to win at PvP. At least know what you're doing is a good start,
I also forgot to mention and would like to add....
Keep in mind that you have only been PvPing for a week. You are playing against other players who have months or evenmore than a yearof PvP experience. You will need to practice a LOT to be able to compete with these players. You just need to be patient. Combat is more complicated now than it was pre-CU, you need to take the time to work it all out. Slowly you will.
I'm also guessing that your opponents have a lot of credits and will be able to afford uber weapons and skill tapes. Try making lots of money and buy the good stuff. And always get your weapons sliced, and use powerups.
Also, try to use foods, drinks and spices to increase your stats.
Keep your defenses up, use muon so you can also use stims when your mind starts to drain, keep you regens buffed, etc...
Try to stay out of range if you can, keep states on them and do as much damage inbetween.
If the get you, have some honor and tell them 'well done'. When I started in PvP, I actually got some advice by doing just that.

yeah and also keep in mind that most people who are overt are usually experienced and ready. One of the best ways to learn PvP is to duel your friends. This is a much slower pace and allows you to mash a special and then check the combat chat to see what kind of damage it did. Unlike the old days when you could scroll back through your logs and it would say "you use torso shot on XXX for 800 points of damage". Also dueling your friends allows you to find out what kind of food they are using to counter your attacks, what kind of armor, attacks, weapons, etc. You usually cant get this info from your enemies. But dont give up on it, it takes practice and skill, you may die a lot, but when you get that first PvP kill it will be a rush.
Also try to keep moving (Accuracy while moving SEAs are massive in PvP but quite cheap (relatively)on the forums). Try to keep your targetnear the max range for your weapon and hopefully that is out of range for their weapon. If they get too close use kd and pummel in the damage when they are down, you get bonus damage when they are on their a$$.
Combine your CM heals with good stim Ds (at least 1000 heal) and Ruby Bliel to half the stim cool down.
At first just aim to stay alive as long as possible, hitting when you can, dont be afraid to run and heal if you are getting pwned. Fighting Jedi often is a matter of staying alive until his force bar is depleted, then he becomes just "some dude in pyjamas" and he is yours.
To practice PvP try duelling friends and guild mates rather than going overt and being at the mercy of the jedi gank squads, you dont learn much when you die in 3 seconds of going overt. If that is not possible then there are 100s of fight clubs about. Whatever you think of fight clubs they are quite a good way to get PvP experience and there are usually a couple of MDocs there to rez you if u die.
Anyway keep practicing and have fun, it will soon come good for you ![]()
devs are putting it on a timer similar to KD, can only happen once in a certain time frame sort of deal, so its not chainable, pub20 i hope
they are dumb, you would have though after nerfing KD they would have learned
