I disagree with the whole TEF thing, it is my hope this doesn't exist. But Neutrals and Coverts should not be allowed to fly factional ships.

I agree that you should have to belong to a faction to fly an IMP/REB ship, but I do not agree that you need to be overt.

Devs, I LOVE the idea that you have to be overt to pvp. and if you are in a certain zone you are deemed attackable... This is GREAT... now can we just have a warning when we enter a danger zone? (ie pvp)

I to like the overt for pvp and the pvp zones what is wrong am an imp there isa rebel playerattacking an imp ship (be it a tie or a cap ship) i can not help out, but if i am a rebel i can help out. How dose that work?

This is something i am on the fense about. On the one hand i love the way in which players can choose PvE or PvP however i do think that you should be able to aid your comraids in some way. A TEF would be ok because it would bring risk to the GCW however it would force people into PvP which i dont want.

Perhaps certain types of missions do not give TEF's yet 'dungeons' (like battlegrounds with lots of npcs and cap ships etc) do give TEFS so everyone can fight each other.

Its just hard thinking of a way that will be a win win for both sides.

To people saying pvp should be kept apart from pve.
Why?
This is a online multi-player game right?
So if 3-4 imp players decide to go on a patrol and see a star desrtoyer under attack why should they not be able to help the star destroyer. Also same battle or mission a group of rebs come along see the star destroyer under attack, they can attack it and help destroy it.
How is fair? how dose that make the gcw better?

You have a point about not being able to help, but then again you can't help if someone is killing <NPC Faction Group Here>. As for other coverts joining in taking the captial ship I don't think that should happen, I think of it as beeing in the catergory of kill stealing on the ground, some solutions that seem reasonable would be to issue a tef if you don't belong to the group working on that mission, or to make mission targets un-attackable by people outside of a group taking on the mission.

If these zones are implimented, then 90% of the factioned craft should be found in those Zones respectfully.

That way...a neutral can have his/her X-wing and fly around to his/her heart's content. Non-factioned Rebel/Imperial NPC's should heavilypopulate these areas, thus giving them something to shoot down.

A few solo TIE fighters or X-wings being shot down outside of these zoneswould thenbecome morebelievable.

This may have already been answered but im still confused, Since only overts can hurt overts, right? Well if it is twitch-based and u can just shoot at anything what is stopping u from shooting a covert or does it do 0 damage??

I thought that majority of twitch based games are pvp kind of people?

with the ai thing,

humans can act randomly, they can react to situations and analize it properly.....

ai is very complicated programing, it must learn how to react by the programer giving it senarios, or by being programed to generate random numbers that determine what it does... but it relies off what its told for its reactions, so in other words, it usualy repeats itself alot, and humans can take advantage of that and learn how to defeat the enemy ai easier with every battle... computers cant truely learn tactics, and cant act with a free will, everything must be tought to it, and it is always controled by what the programmer has told it.

heh, ive made a few simple games with BASIC, with very simple ai... and still the ai is the hardest part of all to program...

so in that way, PVP and PVE are TOTALY different....

ell they still need some skill to take down, and XWA for excample has some very hard AI(super aces)they need a good amount of skill to take downk, now what im saying is that since both pvp and pve need skills to fight and in both sichuations u have the possiblity of dieing,y should u keep them completly seperate. Its not the ground game, its ur own skills not ur characters,

yeah but now we are talking about griefing possibilities, leet loosers and genuine bad people. Thats a big difference between PvP and PvE too. PvE react the way the progs have told em, they kill you and thats it, they do it how you would expect a rebel npc to not talk crap and act like some spoilt child.

The real problem about that, is.. will enough people go overt to make it fun for those maybe 20% who like pvp? Cause you can be certain that all the carebears will not. And in general, it is those people that are the most fun to kill hehe =)
