They are. But you'll still be required to read text

Are there any real hand crafted space quests in JTL, or are we stuck with random-random-random-random?

No, they are much more fun if pure utter frustration and forced grouping is your idea of a good time

Watch these boards light up over the coming weeks with some VERY pi55ed off people.

Yes and no.

No, they are a lot better and more varied than ground combat missions. There's escort, capture, patroland destroy missions. The text is a billion times better ("But won't he be expecting us?" "No one expects the Imperial Inquisition!" Classic.) and there is a clear progression as one mission often flows into the next.

Yes, they're boring - mostly because you have to go back to the ground game to get the mission, which means loading in and then dealing with starport lag. Grrr!

There VERY boreing as its impossable to hit ANYTHING in space with the newbie ships. My advice is don't bother with JTL unless you want to be a Ship builder

Judging only from the last few days of Beta, UKMars may very well be right, unfortunately for all of us. There was a real "Hell Week" where all the tweaks were slammed to "Impossible" levels, and Beta folks were really po'ed. Then the Devs back the sliders down, so to speak, and JtL was actually fun. The last few days of Beta were Hell again. I have no idea what Day One of JtL of live is going to be like - I know it can be fun, and I know it can be very frustrating. The last condition I saw was "frustrating".

Actually UKMars things changed, on this last day of beta it improved. I really like the flight model as it was when the server went down. No more silly speed NPC ships, dogfighting came back, in a big way. Sure when it does hit live there will be a few moaners but that has always been the way with online games.

Actually, that makes be feel much better about the final release. This shows that the developers are looking at all the possibilities for tweaking the flight model. I'm pretty sure they know the settings they want. They are just moving things to exteremes to test all the "what if" senerios.

You are correct rexan, one of the devs mentioned pushing things to the extreme on the beta forums. They do it to find the "sweet spot".

I thought the missions where fun.

But sometimes nuts to do.

( tier 2 mission for the imp's had to capture a lambaa shuttle was nuts with the rear turret and his pinpoint acc)

Well if that's the case then we'll all be in for a bit of a treat when it hits live. I sure hope so, I may be critical but this game is still worth playing IMHO.
