The night before the publish. my roomy and i had alot of fun chasing after all the enemies, taking out some Nova's and just really pumping up some star wars music. the feeling was outstanding. it felt like the game had improved beyond my complaints in Space.

The Ai was great, it atatcked like AI should. Then tried to outrun us and come back for its attack.! Whoo Ha!

But then...

After the publish the enemies aint so fun no more. Every single battle with them since has been "thrust into battle, nope slow down, oh there he goes, oh wait no, hes turning this way and that. Okay now hes taking off, the chase! yay!....nope wait there he goes again...funny, should be matching his speed or faster , wait hes making a turn at thsi speed?

[ is talking about even tier 1's ]

Tier 4's ...they come at you firing every shot they can, you go to chase them, they fly in circles? Thats all they do...is fly in circles.

Whats up with that?

Please Devs. change it back.

I didn't like all the juking around they did at first, but quite honestly it's much more challenging now. It's not just a mindless turkey shoot anymore and it's already made me a better pilot...

Yeah, the finally managed to blow me up, not that Im that great or experienced or anything. But before the latest patch, it was super easy to kill the tier 1s (Im only a tier 1 as well). Now its definitely alot more of a risk and gets my adrenaline going.

IMO the AI now is 1000 times better than it was. I hated......HATED the jousting AI at tier 4/5. Now there is more of a challenge in the spacefighting. Add to that the fact that I have not really learned to fight with my Firespray very well (the thing takes gettin used to for sure in the laser config setup) and I am havin a rough time.

I like the fact that it is not some clay pidgeon target shoot anymore.

I strongly agree. The new AI is a lot of fun and a good challenge. Jousting AI just equals dead AI, the only question was how much time it would take and how boredI would be by the end of it. The latest AI actually rotate their turning radiusand jink. It's no longer just a fight on one 2D plane. It's a dogfight again without being too predictable pattern.

Well done Devs and thanks.

"Tha AI is taking evasive maneuvers, dang it!! I can't pwn and 1-shot kill anymore!!!!11one!!1! How can I be Luke Skywalker now?!?!?"

OMG, this is just classic!

Guys here at work are wondering why I'm trying to keep from falling out of my chair. You've likely just got me in trouble!

The AI is finally good, and what do we see? Someone complaining about that now! Oh, jeez. Truly classic.

well all i know is that i certainly like the idea of fighting thinking enemy craft, instead of enemies that just fly from point a, to b, and back again over and over. what good does any pilot get from retreating and then going straight towards the enemy craft, full speed?

I'm really having fun with this new AI. The old one was too predictable and easy. Now I find that I actually have to work a bit more if I want to blow something up... and that's a reward in itself with the new flaming ship debris that are now floating all over the place.

I really hated the jousting so I really appreciate to new AI.

I just don't like the starting and stopping they do now. I have an A-Wing and I would really like more high speed chases. Maybe that comes at different tiers, I don't know.

I just know that I was getting tired of going 1000 and dropping to 200 and so on.

One of the coolest things is when the enemies fly in formation, are they still sticking to formations?

I think they should try to regroup when you break up the initial formation.

Yeah, but if they're doing proper flying, aren't they supposed to regroup their formation AFTER killing the guy that forced them to break it in the first place?

Higher tiers do indeed give spinning and turning high-speed chases. But, if the AI notices that you stayed on their tail the whole time, they'll slam on the brakes to try to get you to pass them to get on your tail.

A human player would do this, so the AI should, too.

Frankly the AI is still pretty lame, IMO. At 4444 I eat all Tier 5's with ease except for Awings, which are tedious only because of (a) the incessant pounding you have to do on them and (b) the speed advantage of the Awing.

Matter of fact all of the targets are merely tedious, since they require such an immense pounding to kill.
