How are you able to turn on the engine glow?
When i 1st got mine i was very dissapointed at the fact that you couldnt have it, now ive found out you can have it.
Can anyone tell me how? Or is it new graphics card job?
Thanks

Try turning on "Bloom" in your Graphic Options Menue ingame. CATION though. Bloom uses horrendous amounts of Graphic memory. So If you do not have a 256MB Graphics card then don´t use bloom

apparently bloom only works on certain cards. On others it only does a shiny effect on metal, but it's supposed to enhance glows as well. On my ATI 9800 pro there is no glow at all when you turn off bloom, and a glow when you turn it on but my passenger couldn't see a change when he turned bloom on. So it's definitely card specific.

Bloom only works with the newer shader versions, not sure which ones. If you look under the options page in the launchpad you can choose the newest shader your card supports. I have a 9800 pro 128mb and it works fine.

I can't even click on bloom in my options. I only have a GeForce4 128mb video card. God.... I need a new pc.

So this bloom effect, is it meant to give you the engine glow like shown in the movie?
If you scroll up the post, it was said no.

This isn't a graphic issue. It is the type of engine you have.
When I was using mt loot reward 92 engine I was getting the small "potato" glow mentioned above. I upgraded to the largest engine I could have a SW make and I got the "full engine" look that most remember from the movies.
As for sound, when flying you cannot hear the sound of your engines to well. Why? I have no clue. However, I had YT's passed me in game and they indeed make the familiar YT whine.

Hmm ive never seen a YT or a VT with a decent engine glow at all
bwings and ties look great but allthe other ships a kinda lacking in a decent bit of glowage, which makes me a very sad panda bear!!
(and yes my card supports bloom!)
its almost as annoying as that crazy missile lock on sfx

I have noticed something like this on my awing. If I change out my booster, sometime i will get no graphical represention of this booster, with no glow when i activate it. Then I change to a different booster, It look's like this tube thingie sticking out of the back of my ship and a nice glow when I hit booster.

I don't know, I thinkBloom's supposed to give out a kind of romantic camera blur effect likethe general blurrinessseenin Star Wars Battlefront.
