Thread: blacksun ace helmet 1/200 drop rate???? how comes i don't have one after a week of killin.

sorry but i feel the drop rate is ok at first look. sure im getting some nice equipment like 22k reactors 58 recharge caps n so on but the fact im after an ace helmet means ill just be out there longer n longer every day i have loged in i have been in space or on the ground sortin the loot in to the 1,2,3,-4,5,6,-7,8,9,10 selling the 456s keeping the 7,8,9,10s in storage and taking the 1,2,3s to lok for reverce engineering.
I must of killed between 5k to 8k blacksun in the past week and not found one yet :@)
so im just wanna see the avrage time it would take someone to get a helmet on avg.

Anyone know of a good place to hunt Black Suns. I am a Master Pilot on Eclipse so I really have nothing else to do than hunt for loot but I have been unable to find any good black sun spawns. If you do not want to advertise the spot please atleast send me a PM. I am just bored and looking for a new goal and this seems like it would be interesting. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to share this info with me.

If you are rebel or privateer hit up tier 4 trainers (privateers give them at the cantina in Dant, MO and the tier 4 trainer at the palace in theed), not sure which Rebel trainers give them. There is a static spawn of 3 ship in Red Sin, Endor.

you know, the 200 die is rolled everytime you loot. you have to get the 1 when it roles to get the helmet. So there is no kill x number and the chances get less. Its a normal lotto, you just get lucky sometimes but usually costs you a lot more than anyone could imagine.

Only a week?
There are only 5 confirmed drops on Sunrunner since it started dropping... (mine being the 5th). I hunted only black sun for weeks (as did 5 other pilots in my guild).

Took a while for me to get mine, was killing blacksuns for ages, spent almost a whole day killing blacksuns and got nothing the next day i spend 5mins and i get it.

I've seen like2 on Starsider, one in UR, one on someone I don't know, and one owned by someone in -C-, which I haven't seen yet. So on a server of like 2000, one 3 people have blacksun helmets that I can confirm, that makes the drop rate something like 3 in 2000 or 1 in 666. Factor out the vast majority of people who don't really care and aren't looking, and, yeah, 1 in 200 sounds about right.

That would be more like the ownership percentage as opposed to the drop rate which would be how many Black Sun you have to kill in order to get a helmet. It, at least for me, was more like 1:15k

I just got mine yesterday, wasn't even trying for it--I was just doing tier 4 duty missions to loot some decent components to have REd for my nova courier. Guess I got lucky.

Freelancer then? Try the Tier 4 RSF Trainer deep in Theed Palace, she gives out Black Sun Duty Missions to all freelance pilots regardless of squad, the Helmet Chenir wears dropped frome exactly those missions (and I personally doubt it's 1/200, there should be more Black Sun Helmets around by now and I know of just four on Eclipse as of now).

No matter if I get my blacksun helmet, the drop rate should stay low.
Otherwise it's just like loot kit items. They were quite rare, everyone complained, drop rate got higher and the items became less rare, less wanted and lost their worth.

i ran a ton of rebel tier four missions from the lok hotel, but there are noaces in those missions. does the helmet drop from anything other than aces?
