Just got set back a bit when I finished tier 2. Talon tells me to go see Jabba ASAP, hes heard so much good about me and yaddayadda.
Okey, so I fly over there.. but Hey! Cant go in there! Huh? Ah, you see, youll need to do this big combat-related themepark so Jabba can trust you (Even tho he invited you), and the fact that you, when you had acombat profession, gained 5000 negative factionpoints cos you wanted todo the Valarian thempark (but couldnt, co youwere "too weak") doesent really help you.But.... No, even tho he asked you to come, he wont let you in, even tho you dont have any combat professions. So go drop MasterSomethinghardtolearn, grind a combat profession, camp a valarian spawnspot, get 5250 Jabba faction points, do the whole darn Themepark and THEN you can train in your Neutral Pilotprofession.....
Did I get that right? Is it supposed to be that way? That I cant get beyond tier 2 without doing ground combat? And without doing a themepark I, of roleplaying reasons, dont want to do?
Otherwise I think the JTL expansion is cool!

Look around the front of Jabbas palace or just inside. You may see a guy named privateer pilot or something to that effect. If he is there he should give you access to the room you need to go to. I fly for the Inqusitor squadron based in the emperors palace. After finishing the tier 2 stuff he sent me to another trainer who is inside the palace. I have finished the themepark but last night I noticed an imperial pilot standing by the door. For fun I spoke to him and the menu had the option to say I am a pilot and need to get inside. If I had contnued the conversation I am sure he would have given me access to where I needed to go inside. If there is one for the palace they have to have put one in for jabbas.

There is a someone outside the front door of jabba's Palace, I completed the Themepark way before the release of Jtl, But I remember seeing him as i passed through.

You can't get in without doing the theme. I tried. He says you have to talk to Ree-Yees to get permission to get into the palace. So, basically he tells you "do the theme, bee-atch."

If that is the case it is not cool. You have to do the entire Jabbas quest to get to his throne room. At least in the palcae where the trainer is you would only have to do a couple missions to get to where he is.

Not the entire theme, just the theme up to the throne room.
That's the first two clowns at the front door, Ephant Mon, the guy in the kitchen and the guy in the garage. then you can talk to the rodian Pilot trainer. She is pretty upity, so when you get in there, just /slap the hell out of her to put her in her place.

Well then, that kills my Privateer career. I am KoS to all Hutt factions as a Wookiee, and because I have killed so many before on Tat.
Is there no way around doing the Hutt missions at all?

No way around. And my main problem is being a crappy fighter, and if it had'nt been for great friends, I would have had to drop one of my master professions, take up and level a combat professions and THEN take this themepark.

It's not impossible to gain back the faction. I personally think this is a good lesson for people who chose to slaughter NPC's with no regards to the negative faction they were gaining. Every single time you killed one of those NPC's you received a warning saying that you were losing faction points.

While I agree with you that having consequences for NPC faction is a good thing, I think there is a problem with people not getting enough information to make informed decisions. The JTL content is almost 100% linear, so if you make the decision to not be in good with Jabba, there needs to be some IN GAME indication that you shouldn't do the smuggler path. Because you have zero freedom in choosing how you progress once you make that initial choice of trainers, AND because you are encouraged by the game system to make that choice based solely on the location that is most convenient for you, there's no way to know that you're screwing yourself until it comes time to either grind NPC faction or give up 6+ boxes of skill and earn them all over again at another trainer.
I heartily support the Faction system and there being consequences that people have to live with. Being forced to go do Jabba's theme park, with NO ALTERNATIVE FOR ADVANCEMENT isn't living with the consequences of your decision; it's being forced to go back and undo your decision to oppose Jabba. Right now JTL gives you ONE meaningful choice aside from ship configuration: which trainer do you want to start with. Either we need a FULL AND COMPLETE SPOILER for how that choice will affect us in the ground game so that that decision can be an informed one, or we need MORE SIGNIFICANT CHOICES worked into the system. At the very least we need a way to change trainers within the same profession without starting over completely.
