The X-52 is coming out soon.
http://store.yahoo.com/saitekusa/fligcon.html
It will cost about $129 compared to the $79 of the X-45. Now do to the different types of ship in JTL and how they shoudl all handle differnetly but kind of the same and the X-52 has a insta macro feature wouldnt that make it a better joystick to use then the X-45 (if you like buttons) so Im gona buy 1 of them which one do you think I should get.

Let me tell you, though - it's very difficult to get used to a true HOTAS system. Additionally, if you're buying a HOTAS setup just to play JTL, you need to be shot.
I'm going to use a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Pro for JTL and leave my TM Cougar for FS2004, Lock On, and IL-2.
Some of you won't like it even if you like the look of it. Be sure to buy it from someplace you can easily return it to if it doesn't feel right.

Here in London, there's a PC World that has it's joysticks on display for you to try out. You can get a really good feel for them.
He he, at first... I thought you were talking about some new Headhunter.

$130 isn't that bad when you think about it. You can't really compare the price of a HOTAS system to that of a regular flight stick, considering you're getting two controllers in the box. If you divide it up it's only about $65 for the stick and $65 for the throttle, which is a pretty nice deal in my opinion.

I had an X-45 setup once. The gameport edition (this was in the first days of USB when it was problematic setting ANYTHING up using USB), always felt extraordinarily cheap to me. It's more plastic than metal, and any committed stick jockey would probably bust the throttle control alone in a month or so.
Another word to the wise about HOTAS setups - velcro (industrial strength is TOO damn adherent - you'll have trouble getting the stick off the surface) is your friend.
Even with the Cougar weighing 21 pounds between both pieces, it still wobbles.
P.S. - Suction cups might SEEM like a nice idea, but they're not. They suck at sucking when you need them to suck.
