I would not have had 90 to 120 minutes to do this mission. I would most likely have had to log out due to actual life issues - I have a wife, a child and I run my own business.
That is a great problem for many people i think, I have a wife too, and a baby, i can`t tell her "wait and don`t cry, daddy is playing right now, i can`t loose 1 hour of mission"
I have a telephone to answer
I have a door to open for family/friends
i have a real life, and sometimes i need just 1 minute, others maybe 30.
¿who don't have this problem never?...maybe some of this boys 24/7 gamer, without a real life, and Ace pilots in 5 days, but not everybody can or want to play this way.
Plz Devs, add a pause system, for PVE missions, maybe no damage-invisibility, during pause, you dont move, enemys still aroud (or invisible too, or dont move and not visible either...a lot of ways to do it).
I understand can`t be done with PVP, but seems easy for PVE.
It`s frustrating when you need to abbandon your ship, to be destroyed, or unlog and loose a lot of time, being forced to repeat your mission since the begining, because you dont have a pause, and you hace a real life.

I think that adding a pause function into JTL would cause more problems for them, they should add a save function between submissions..It'sbad they think everybody canstay ingame 60-90+ minutesto do a mission (not even to mention you probably have to do it a few times)..

maby not pause but making check points on missions would work so basicaly most missions are set up into multiple parts they should just change it so you always resart the mission after your last compleat section then you can basicaly pause the mission till you have more time but not pause the game would make it easyer for people with limited time as they wouldnt have to run long missions all in one go and it wouldnt afect anything else.

I think if you die in the, say, the 4th part of a 6 part mission, it should save it so you can retry that 4th part without having to go back, get it again and do everything again.

Ok, i agree something like chek points it`s better than nothing.
But, i don´t see how pause, can affect to rest of the people, since everybody have their own enemies, you cant shoot to others player`s enemies, just freeze them and player during pausing, and to avoid other players seeing some statics ships, just put them in "4ª dimension", not visible during pause.
When you unpause, you are still in the same situation.
Check point it´s nice, because it`s annyoning repeat all the mission, when you fail, thats tedious, not fun.
Better players, maybe don´t need check ponit, or not many times, but for casual and not good fps/players its great and fun.
i would like to see both implemented

I'm not trying to argue with the distractions of real life, but how can they pause a game that has other players in it at the same time? If this were a single player game, then it is feasible to bring the entire universe to a halt. However, this is a game that involves others playing along side you. How could they implement something like this? If one player hit "pause", then would I come across a player and several enemy ships frozen in place? If only the player pauses, then what happens to the enemy? Do they wait around for the player? Do they fly off and regenerate their shields?
I'm sorry. I understand what is bothering you, but I don't see how the game can be changed to allow you to instantly go AFK during a battle. Maybe incremental save points "between" battles. For example, if a mission is multi-staged, you can pause in between stages (remove the existing mission timers or don't start the timer until you've reached a specific area), but can't log or land.

This happens to me also, and I hate it that this game does not realy allow you to play less then 1 hour. But pause would just be impossible to made, it will always have to much possibility to be exploited. What if you are in pvp and before you die just pause until the others log, or until buff are gone or unitl server down lol. And if you say, its just pve, it would still be unfair. over half of the time I die in space its not because of the mission but for random npcs. You could just pause till someone helps you out or kills this enemys.
I would say the only good way to pause would be if there would be more instanced dungeons or even instanced space zones. Than you could pause the whole instance for the whole group in it, that would not make any differences to the game.

I also think PAUSE IS IMPOSSIBLE in a MMORG, but there should NOT BE this MULTI-LEVELS!
Why are we forced to replay Missions, that we allready have done???
There should at least be an auto-save after a mission, so that we can log out, and if I fail Mission 4 of Jabbas 3., I should be able to start - after retake of the missions - with Mission 4.
Not again from the beginniing. (That is really boring.....)

I would strongly suggest that you work on time managment instead of asking for SoE to input a pause feature into game.
First off, the pause feature would be heavily exploitable.
Secondly, it would make this game such a sad excuse for a MMoRPG, and with no end game currently implimented the last thing SoE wants to do is to allow more people to reach the point of realization.
Third, it is a friggin' MMoRPG, it is supposed to be live action. On top of that JTL is real-time twitch based, why the f*ck should you be able to pause it!?!?!?!?!!?

Work on time management Uilamin? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!
Firstly bub, like he said, some of us have small children/babies that can't be put on a timeclock. Don't be an idiot.
Now, I don't agree with a "pause" feature, but I do like the "checkpoint" solution. As long as your still in the area of your mission, you can continue, but if you land on a planet, you lose the checkpoints like you end a duty mission. If you can't stay at the pc, the hyper to a location, do what you need, then return. Missions resume. It's not perfect, but it will give those that have unexpected things occurring the same opportunity to continue.

pause doesnt work out on mmorpg's..poeple exploit it
find a part in your mission whre you have to pilot to a WP before the mission starts...trek towards the nuetrel space station in your area and hide there..its like a pause
