Here is a little fact that you may or may not know..
When doing the freelance mission destory 30imp ships and 1 gunboat the AI (Rebel) ships do nothing but slow down your internet connection and slow down machines like mine (AMD 3000+ 256g-card 1meg memory) The Dev's put these AI to fly around the game not really doing anything but for this fact. I've tested this over and over since DEC of 04 and same thing happens over and over for example:
I destory a imp ship down to 12sheild and 30armor. then sit back and watch 2 AI rebel ships fly all around trying to fire at it and never once hit the imp ship. Sad to say my test has only went on for around a hour and half and no longer because I just go sick of watchin pointless AI. This should not be a big deal to most due to the fact that the DEV's pretty much have made every AI suck in this game unless you are attackin a AI then different story.
If the DEV's read anything of the forms read this.. You have pointless AI to go along with a pointless mission. Some people say that jedi grind is a very hard thing.. I really can't agree with this.. I've been workin on gettin Master Pilot since the release of JTL and still have not. This is due to the fact that I don't wish to group with others to do these missions I would much rather due them myself. Missions like the freelance one I listed is next to stupied to do with out AI help and if your not goin to give AI the skills to help me do the mission plz take them out for they only slow up my game play.

I would have to agree with the fact that many ppl would prefer to be able to solo more of the game. And Multiplayer does not imply :multiplayer only:. Freelance or Privateer does imply the solo aspect of the game and should play as such. And the current situation in space is poor since few ppl bother with space at this point. Finding enough ppl to take on the corvette has proved futile for the last month. Of the dozen pilots I know, rarely are 3 or more online at the same time, nor do many of those want to have to die repeatedly for that mission. Revamp the requirement of multiplayer for space or chalk it up as useless to most of the ppl who play.

If you're a loner, why do you want NPCs to help you? Environmental ships aren't there to kill each other, they're there to be shot by players, or shoot at players. having an aggressive AI v AI coded ingame would cause far more lag than you're saying is there (I still don't get what you mean by that). Explosions, damage tracking, particle effects from successive hits, and all the other things the AI does when you fight it, would cause mammoth lag if the game tried to push all that info for all the enemy NPC ships that fly near each other.
The AI vs AI fighting is for cosmetics only most of the time. The system means most ship you meet will be in the 95th percentile or higher when it comes to condition. Why? so people don't do exactly what you're proposing. Tag ships they cant really handle for 5% damage, then wait for the other AI ships to finish them off, and get FULL EXPERIENCE.
The flaw comes when different performance ratings for ships come into play. What you witness is not an AI flaw, its an NPC ship design flaw. Rebel NPCs are slower and less maneuverable than the Imperials. They get hit more, and therefore killed more, even in a nonaggressive AI galaxy.
The only facts I see in your post are these:
You don't really know what you're looking at ingame.
If its taken you this long to get that far, you really need to swallow your pride and learn more about ship equipment.
Expecting the computer to do your work for you, and claiming to be a loner who wants to do it "solo" is a joke right?
You need to change your sig. You're 4/4/4/4 not a Master until you beat the final mission.

I soloed all of the Freelancer Corsec missions except the dual gunboat one. I just could not keep the "help" alive long enough. lol They love to fly around in front of the remaining gun on a disabled gunboat. If he is complaining now... wait till he tries to solo the Vette.
I did it and it made the kill 30 look like a walk in the park. lol

I never understood why people had problems with killing 30 TIEs. Sure, the TIEs are a real pain compared to the Rebel ships and yes, it can be frustrating - but it's not that hard. Just get the proper droid programs running, go up there and keep blasting until you're done. That was, I felt, one of the most solo-able missions of the top two tiers.
As to the whole group vs solo thing, I've said before and I'll say again - it's about availability of content. You should be able to play and enjoy the game solo, but you should NOT be able to solo everything. There is some content that you just won't have access to unless you work in a group, and that's just how it is.
Edit: spelling

No, the word freelance doesnt. It means that you have no loyalty to anything. Not that your a loner.
And its an MMO, if you don't like the multiplayer part just play a single player game, also saves more money.

I keep being dumb founded by people who make these types of comments to a solo player. People who solo are still involved in the multiplayer aspect of the game. How you may ask? By the way of economy. You can’t simulate real human nature and its effect on an economy in single player games. A solo player also encounters real players on their adventure to randomly interact with. With AI you can pretty much guess what the encounter will be like but, with a human player, well I shouldn’t need to explain further. So you see there are many aspects to a multiplayer game that playing solo still makes a solo player very involved in the multiplayer aspects.

Don't forget the Smuggler's Alliance mission SNAFU ... somewhere around the third tier you'll be told you will be working for Jabba the Hutt and are told to go to his palace to talk to someone named Bessia to get the next mission.
Except that Bessia isn't standing in foyer - this character is buried somewhere in the bowles of Jabba's Palace and thus you can't get your next Smuggler's Alliance mission without doing the Jabba's Palace Themepark first!
Which, if you are a straightforward pilot and not a ground combat template on the side, is completely impossible.
When I found this out, I honestly just went to Bestine, told the founder to shove his career path where the sun doesn't shine, and enlisted in the Imperial Navy.
Why? Because I'm aPILOT and it was less effort for me to just grind my way back up to Tier 3 again with the Navy than it was to go level Fort Tusken, the Rogue Corsec Base, or take on a village of Nightsisters. Egads, just grinding my skills up to where I could even do those missions would have taken me at least a month of gameplay time.
Stupid, stupid quest system ...
"Now young Padawan, to reach the next level of your Jedi training, you will have to Master ... Nude Erotic Tap Dancing!"

Or you could have responded to Tatooine station telling they have a special job for you all through Tier 2 and gotten some Forged Jabba's palace access papers.
For the original poster, there's a stickied pilot helper list on the pilot forum. Contact the pilots from your server listed on it.

Or... you could do the mission from the Tatooine space station that gives you access to the palace.
