This is probably a question that has been asked hundreds of times, but since I can't find a search function here, my only option is to post the question. (Sorry, I just don't have the patience, nor the time, to read thru hundreds of posts)

How do you target attacking mobs? I know using the Tab key cycles thru ALL mobs, but is there a key that cycles thru attacking mobs? Or maybe even just Closest attacking mob?

It's really frustrating to try and target a particular creature when you have a couple dozen on the screen. Anyways, any help here would be most apprieciated.

The short answer is, no.

And the search command is in the lower left corner at the bottom of the screen.

I'm sad about the targeting, but thanks a ton for the super secret location of the search!!!

Ok, maybe I was just blind, but thanks anyways!!!

1) Is there any shortcut to target corpses? Very often i cant fine them on the ground anymore

2) Is there any shortcut to target Player Characters? Very often i see blue dots on my radar and would like to know who it is.

3) Is there a shortcut to target pets? Very often Babys are so small i can hardly find them with my mouse.

Thx in advance

I think pets rotate off the self target of control 1.

I'm not sure if there's a way to target a corpse once you've targeted something else. But I found a way to pull up the radial menu of a corpse that's either buried in the terrain (a bug) where you can't even see any part of it.

But this only works if you still have the corpse targeted. Just press ` to pull up the radial menu of that targeted corpse. Then by pressing any of the numbered options, you can activate that command...or use your mouse.

I use this often when I find my corpses hidden in the terrain and want to do some harvesting or looting.

this is way old, but i stumbled across it and thought i would answer this question.

yes there is a way to do it. but not how you think.

click on nothing, it should bring up an attacking mob.

unless you have your setting to "untarget when mouse clicks nothing" (not sure wording but the option exists if you target a person, then click on the ground and it untargets him then your setting is wrong, turn it to the other way. which will make it do .... if you target a person and you click on the ground you stay targeted.

if you have the latter way setup, if your targeting say a person, or a mob who isn't attacking u, but another one is attacking you, simply clicking on nothing will bring up the attacking mob as your target.

i know im confusing but i hope that helps.

will targeting be like it is now you just tab on someone and fire away. or will it be fix sight and you have to dog fight it out.

i would like it fixed target so dog fighting would be more challenging. than simply just have a target and fire from any angle. they enemy should be in your sight for the guns to hit. only thing i can see that is taget and stays would be missiles and such. but as regular blaster cannons it should be sight target. and not just a tab someone and you can fire at will.

It no where near like ground combat. Its like XWA/XvT. You actually have to line up the target in your reticle and fire.

Can anyone give me some tips on targeting creatures? when i'm in the heat of combat and i switch to myself to heal i use the tab key to try and get back to my original target, but it always selects a creature besides the one i want. i have to cycle through 2 or 3 creatures before i get back to my original target. by this time he's hit me a couple of times. any help on targeting him faster?

Some helpful hints:

1. never target yourself to do anything... especially heal. make a macro/hotkey to "/heal self"

2. check the keymapping options and setup keys your comfortable with for hittling last target and cycling both in and out.

3. while in combat clicking on nothing will set you to no target and then right away you'll auto target something you're fighting with.

/heal self

/target previous (?)

/attack

Would this work? and what's the command for target previous?
