Thread: Interceptor figher for Nuetral?
Pretty good 2 light fighter and a med fighter...
Privateer is fine really...
Are you speaking out against having a Star Viper? Have you ever played a Star Viper?
They are seven kinds of awesome.

Except the ships are all out of scale compared to the rebel and imperial ships. The privateer vessels are roughly twice as big as they should be based on the size of the cockpits. The Vaksai is a nice ship, but you can almost put an A-Wing inside of it.

Not really, they only hold about 90k mass at best. A Jedi starfighter holds about 95k mass and an A-wing holds a lot more than that. All rebel ships are highest in mass. IE, a Y-Wing "longprobe" holds about 200k mass. A kimogila holds about 110k mass. A TIE/In hold about 80k (not sure as for the TIE). Those are all the same tier and yet rebel ships hold more. This is true for all levels. An X-Wing holds a lot and is very manuverable. So really the people who get let down are the Imps...go figure. Rebels pretty much got it best.
Than there's the ARC170 or the KSE, but I'm not sure if KSE's are aloud in PvP. Even if they are, they cost a pretty penny.
I like a lot of room to put stuff and have less limitations, I guess that's why I don't like ships with little mass.

A-Wing is 65k, or 60k. something like that. TIE Interceptor is 50k

I think I can understand what the OP is talking about.
But really, do you want each of the factions to be EXACTLY the same?
I play a privateer and an imperial pilot (2 alts).
I like seeing the small hit boxes of imps compared to the huge tanks of the privateer. As Privateer, if I can target the ship coming at me first, it's gone, as long as I'm accurate. As an imp, unless I missile it, I have to still get the first shot in and possibly maneuver around to get another shot into my target.
Imps are mainly about small, maneuverable striking, with the possible exception of the oppressor.
Rebs are mainly about the law of averages. They get some of the best of both worlds, with the exception of the a-wing and b-wing.
Privateers getbigger, massively armed ships slower ships. Exceptions are the vaksai and the new heavy.
That being said, ROTW has unbalanced things a bit. So far sothat certain things are considered to be wrong to use. RGTIE (bugged hitbox), missiles (no chance to defend yourself if you use the lancing approach), advanced X-wing (simply because they changed the basic x-wing by adding 80k and ya can't tell the difference), the JSF and B22 (for their small size and unable to tell faction cept by Z-key), and epulse for privs (simply because this pretty much blows everything up within a 250m range).

I have seen some good Dunelizard pilots in my time but they're still rather big.
While the hitbox size is barely a concern (if one at all) in PvE, it is a major factor in PvP. Ignoring RotW's existence, the A-Wing is not a preeminent PvP ships because of it's Mass/Agility balance (it's actually quite well balanced against other ships, and less powerful than a T/A), but because it is the smallest original JtL ship out there. By a good margin. Seriously.
The Interceptor was a common Imp ship due to the weapon spread and the small hitbox, neither of which can be easily quanitified on paper as part of the ship's "balance" but both of which were factors in PvP engagements.
On paper, the Freelancers have a strong set of ships. What that means is that Freelancers have a strong set of PvE ships. There is no Freelancer ship that compares to the smaller TIEs or the A-Wing when it comes to PvP usefulness (you can park an X-Wing inside of even the smaller style Dunelizard - try it sometime).
While I've switched factions more than most people, I still consider myself mostly a Freelancer (or maybe that's a symptom of me being a Freelancer....). I'm regularly reminded that I can not be a Freelancer and be as dangerous in PvP as Rebels or Imperials unless I resort to RotW ships (and I'm not a fan of RotW ships). It gets frustrating but there is no change in sight, so it's something Freelancers have to deal with.

To be honest, I see no reason at all why anyone would ban a Vaksai for a pvp event on any server. Sure it has awesome mass, equal speed mod to the A-wing and great r,p,y acceleration..however, the thing is massive. It'd be great in pvp but te size in all fairness, more than balances it out as a pvp ship. I would love to get my hands on one but I know that I'd probably have more success with my A-wing even though technically...the Vaksai is superior on all fronts except for weapon spread and hitbox.
Blah!.
No worries or apologies necessary, Leaph ![]()
I hadn't done the work I wanted to with that thread, so I'm glad it got some use ![]()
Gonna make a new one with all the info about a week after pub 24 goes live.
Got minimum stuff through max stuff all available.
Only thing is I aint even gonna try those 10k+ POB shields with that 3.7k cap BEFORE OL with Epulse.
I can't even imagine what that might do to the ISD and such at close range......
Also, yes, the vaksai with ove 100 spd and above 85 in ypr is a killer sliding machine. Wish I liked PvP more though ![]()
