Thread: Best ship

I am just wondering. What is the best privateer ship, once you reach Master Pilot. I like the KSE Firespray but I was also thinking about the Krayt Bomber. Which is better? And why?

Also, how much do these ships cost, so I can start saving up.

I am on the Valcyn server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

the M22-T Krayt Gunship.
Huge mass, excellent handling, massive firepower.

The Krayt is really nice. More firepower with better convergence than a Firespray, same mass, roughly equivalent handling. The Rihkxyrk is a nice alternative in that its three weapons fire in a tighter group than the Krayt's, but it seems a matter of personal preference as to whether that's an advantage and if so whether that outweighs the extra 20K mass and (I think, been a while since I was a privateer, though) slightly better handling you get with a Krayt.

Don't rule out the Dunelizard, either. It's quite nimble, and that 85K mass is enough to fit in a couple RE'd level 8 reward blasters without trouble.

I don't know what prices are like on Valcyn, but given the mechanics of chassis pricing, I'd say it's a safe guess you'd be able to find a Krayt for 450-600K. Given the Firespray's rareness, its sticker varies a lot more, but you should expect to pay 4-10M for one.

I choose the Krayt, but then again I like having a gunner. I hunted around and found one with an abnormally high mass and it was 400K. An alternative if you know a good shipwright is to harvest all the materials yourself and see if they will cut you a significant deal in exchange for the resources. This will allow you to spread the cost out during you pilot grind.

I have a Krayt and a Firespray and I tend to fly the Krayt. If I hadn't got a Firespray as a perk for being in my guild, I don't think I'd have one. Just too expensive. All you are really paying for is the image. It may be more manuverable than a Krayt and the load out is better for taking down capital ships (i.e. two missile slots), but on the whole the advantages aren't worth the money in my opinion.

Again, what "best" is for me is different than for you. If I like tanks, and you like agility, we'll never agree.

Also stats are mainly dictated by your equipment, and that makes for infinite combinations.

You're not going to get the answer you want, so you can run out and get one, and tell people you have the "best" ship, sorry.

Your best option is to explore, talk to other pilots ingame aboutWHY they fly what they fly, but don't just ask if you thier ship is "the best"

I'd give you completely different answers for completely different reasons, depending on which character you ran into of mine, but that's because I'm such an RP nut, that when I'm in a different toon, I have different opinions

The best ship for you is the one you have the most fun flying.

Personally, I'm going to try refitting my kihraxz. I miss that thing.

For PvE, a well equipped B-wing, Krayt, or Rihk are the best, because they are able to dish out the most firepower, and despite their low manueverability they can still easily handly Tier V NPCs. For PvP, a well equipped A-Wing or Advanced is the best, because they have a small hit profile, and they are still able to do enough damage to one or two-shot most opponents. None of the other ships are significantly more inferior, and you'll probably fare better in the ship you're used to, even if its not one of the ones listed above, but in the long run, if you want to dominate in PvE or PvP, then your best bet is to get good in one of the ships listed above.
